King Pereama Urges Bayelsa Govt. to Declare Public Holiday to Mark Late King Robert Ebizimo Remembrance Day Annually

Yenagoa_____ As the eight years anniversary celebration of the late ljaw Owigiri Highlife Music lcon (King) and the Numu Pere 1st of lzon-lbe, late Dr. King. Robert Ebizimo draws closer, the Numu Pere ll of lzon-lbe Owigiri Highlife Music, King Pereama Freetown JP, has called on the Government of Bayelsa State to set aside a day and declare a public holiday at the Jerusalem of ljaw Nation in order to honour and celebrate the departed ljaw music Taliban in a more unique way.

King Pereama stated this over the weekend in Yenagoa, while addressing the press ahead of the forthcoming late King 
Robert Ebizimo Remembrance Day on Sunday 31st July, 2022 that is taken place at Angalabiri, expressed that late Dr. Ebizimo worths annual celebration because he created an indelible impact in the lives of every average ljaw man through the lyrics of his music.

He emphasized that late King Robert Ebizimo was a man who literally almost single handedly transformed ljaw owigiri highlife music to the present appreciable standard in ljaw land and beyond, adding that there is more to be done by the state government and other well meaning illustrious ljaw sons and daughters to imotalize the fallen ljaw music doyen.

He further thanked and appreciated all those who had contributed financially and otherwise to ensure a memorable annual remembrance celebration of our departed music King over the past seven years, praying God to continue to bless them financially and materially in order to sustain the annual event that is billed for once in a year.

Meanwhile, it will interest the general public to note that, late Dr. King Robert Ebizimo died in a ghastly motor accident on the 31st July, 2014, near Effurun Roundabout Warri, Delta State, on his way from Benin in order to celebrate his survival party at his country home Angalabiri in Sagbama LGA, Bayelsa State. Unfortunately, he could not celebrate his survival party initially scheduled on the 1st of August, 2014 owing to his tragic death.

" I wish to appreciate contributors, critics and appraisals in respect of the annual event, mostly on the modus operandi especially by musicians and other key actors in the music industry, it is not in doubt that everyone wants the best for our late music doyen.
A man who literally and almost single handedly transformed the Owigiri music to the standard it is today. I am a proud protege of Late King Robert Ebizimor and i am amongst those who will proudly live the legacies of a man i saw as my father."

" While l am not unaware of the enormous challenges of putting this show together annually, it is apposite to say that Ijaw music industry is not well appreciated enough within the Ijaw nation, Niger Delta and the world at large. This means that there is more to be done to meet up with the standard we all desire.

Finally, it is my appeal that the day set aside for the remembrance of our late music guru be declared a public holiday by the state government to create the most desired awareness considering the great impact King Robert made in the lives of Bayelsans and the Ijaw nation in general, the statement added."
