NDDC: Niger Delta Rights Group Tells President Buhari, National Assembly To Review NDDC Act, Says Inclusion Of Northerner/Westerner Reps In NDDC Is An Oppression Of Minority Ethnic Group

Francis Tayor

Warri_____ A Niger Delta human rights group under the auspices of Concerned Citizens For Izon-ebe Development (CCFID), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly to as a matter of urgency review the NDDC establishment Act, in order to remove the clause that make provision for the representation of Northerners and Westerners in the commission.

The group in a Press Statement signed by its National President, Comrade Oyinbi Onduku stressed that, the Inclusion of Northerners and Westerners Reps in the board of NDDC is a deliberate oppression of minority ethnic group by the majority ethnic groups in Nigeria.

In his reaction, Comrade Onduku stated that; " In a government whereby injustice becomes law, the people have a duty to resist that government. The National Assembly should as a matter of urgency, review the NDDC establishment Act in order to ensure peace, fairness and justice in Nigeria."

According to Onduku ," There is no common sense whereby a Northerner and Westerner who have nothing to do with Niger Delta development affairs are forcefully imbedded in the establishment of NDDC Act, just because the Hausa's and Yoruba's are the majority ethnic groups in the National Assembly. If l may ask, whose interest is the Hausa or Yoruba man protecting in NDDC ? This is a misplaced priority, waist of Niger Delta Peoples resources and oppression of the minority ethnic group in the highest order. "

" Onduku further stressed that, the inclusion of Northerners and Westerners reps in a commission specifically established for the development of a particular region due to marginalization, simply signifies a deliberate oppression and injustice against the Niger Delta people by the Hausa-Fulanis and the Yoruba's.

We therefore, call on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Senate President, Sen.Ahmed Lawal and the Speaker House of Reps, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila to as a matter of urgency, and  for the interest of peace to reign in the Niger Delta region, to quickly review the Act to remove the clause of Northerners and Westerners representatives in the board of NDDC, Comrade Onduku stated."

Amnesty: Ex-Agitators To President Buhari, Fire Charles Dokubo, Peter Jack, Chief Brown Now,  Says The Trio Are Fraud, Looters,Thieves That Manipulates ln The Office

Francis Tayor

Niger Delta Ex-agitators has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to fire the Presidential Amnesty Coordinator, Prof.Charles Quaker Dokubo, alongside Mr.Peter Jack and Chief Brown immediately for shortchanging the real Amnesty beneficiaries to their selfish interest in the office.

The ex-agitators also charged Peter Ajube to deploy all the Amnesty delegates that wrote application for sponsorship in the next academic session, stressing that failure to do that before the end of this month August will be tantamount to breach of Peace in the Nicer Delta.

They further called on the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the Senate President, Sen. Armed Lawal and the Speaker House of Reps, Hon.Femi Gbajabiamila to as a matter of urgency address the lingering problem between ex-agitators and the Amnesty office or else, expect a massive peaceful protest at National Assembly premises by the end of this month.

Speaking to *NDM News Xclusive* in Warri, the ex-agitators said; " We the Niger Delta ex-agitators hereby use this great opportunity to call on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, the Senate President Sen. Armed Lawal and the Speaker House of Reps,Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

We also called on the National Security Adviser that Prof Charles Quaker Dokubo is not capable to handle the Amnesty programme.

To sustain peace in Niger Delta, we the ex-agitators that has the intention to go to school hereby call for the immediate removal of Charles Quaker Dokubo, the Head of Database, Peter Jack and Chief Brown. These people are the enemies of Niger Delta. The Amnesty programme was established to support anyone that has the intention of going to school and also help Niger Deltans. According to reliable information, Chief Brown, Peter Jack and Charles Quaker Dokubo entered a meeting and concluded that we will not be deployed to school with our bush names but rather real names."

According to them, " The day we came out of the creek to lay down our arms, we were advised by our leaders not to use our real names for this amnesty that if we do, we cannot use our certificate to travel abroad or even do anything with it because the main ideology is that we will be seen as criminals, hoodlums and thieves.

These three persons came together and said we can not be deployed. Now, what they are pushing us to do is to return back to the creeks and resume our vandalism and pick up from where we stopped. Right now, they do not want the progress of we Niger Deltans so we call on the President for their immediate removal as this will not only help us but also Niger Delta as a whole in all ramifications. And we hereby call on Peter Ajube that from now till the end of August, we want all the delegates who wrote application for sponsorship to be deployed this academic session.

If that's not done, we will storm National Assembly for a peaceful protest. We thought that the office is to favour Niger Delta youths but we never knew it only favours married women with big waist. Charles Quaker Dokubo is a fraud, a looter and a thief. He is worse than Paul Boroh. We thought you're there to favour us but you just want to deprive us of our right and shortchange our names.

We need someone that is part of the struggle to take over that office because Quaker Dokubo is not qualified. Enough is enough. Chief Brown must go. He is one of the confusionist in that office. Peter Jack and also Charles Quaker Dokubo should also go too. They don't have and haven't created any impact on Niger Deltans, the statement adds."

Breaking: ljaw Nation Lost Another Music Maestro Agbeotu Teiyebo To The Cold Hands Of Death, As Funororo Enarebo Mourn's Teiyebo Passage

Breaking: ljaw Nation Lost Another Music Maestro Agbeotu Teiyebo To The Cold Hands Of Death, As Funororo Enarebo Mourn's Teiyebo Passage

Francis Tayor

Warri______ The sad news of the passage to eternal glory of Hon. Agbeotu Teiyebo yesterday Sunday 25th August, 2019 has drove ljaw Nation into mourning, considering the ljaw music lcon enormous contributions towards protecting and preservation of ljaw culture through music.

The late music lcon was among the three top ljaw music giants including, late King Robert Ebizimor, late Bestman Doupere that thrills ljaw Nation musically in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Late Teiyebo hails from Ojobo Community in Burutu local government area of Delta State. He died yesterday after a protracted illness.

Mourning his demise, a Bomadi based legal practitioner, Barr. Funororo Enarebo described late Teiyebo death as a colossal lost to ljaw Nation, and the music world in particular.

In his words, Barr. Funororo said; " Just very early yesterday 25th August, 2019, we lost a great musician Hon. Agbeotu Teyeibo a true Izon music giant .He left an impressive musical legacy  through his virtuoso talent and eccentric onstage antics.

Whether or not you're a fan of Agbeotu Teiyeibo, it's impossible to dispute that he was integral in promoting the Izon  sounds of the '70s ,80s and the 90s.

What we're experiencing is the passing of an, entire generation of true artists – men who worked within the medium of music the way a sculptor works in marble.

When I heard the news about Agbeotu Teiyeibo's death, I didn't think of his influence on our Izon  music. Instead, the news took me to the garage of my secondary school days at Ojobo where I spent most of my time in his house with his son Kennedy Teiyeibo  coupled with his fatherly advice.

The grief that accompanies personal loss is profound. Losing someone close to you drains the joy out of life in a way that can never adequately be articulated; it can only be experienced.

When a favorite musician dies, their void affects us in an abstract way similar to how their music speaks to us: it's universal but inherently personal.

Late Hon.Agbeotu Teiyeibo was more or less like a father. Though, he is dead but he lives.  My heartfelt condolences to my very good friend turned brother Kennedy Teiyeibo and the family, the statement adds."

REST ON THE MUSIC MAESTRO.

Francis Tayor

Burutu_______ The Concerned Citizens For Izon-Ebe Development (CCFID) has charged the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to complete Ayakoromo bridge project despite the governor's deliberate neglect of the people for appointment into his cabinet.

The group made the call in Ayakoromo yesterday 23rd August, 2019 during a visit at the site, expressed displeasure over the sorrow state and epileptic nature of the bridge project.

Speaking to journalists, the National President of the group, Comrade Oyinbi Onduku lamented that despite the huged support and votes the people of Ward 7 Ayakoromo gave to Okowa during the 2019 election, what the governor can do is to deprived the people of appointment neither show seriousness to complete Ayakoromo bridge project.

According to Comrade Onduku, " The Ayakoromo bridge was awarded in 2013 by the immediate past governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dr.Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan. But unfortunately the project has suffered some level of set back due to lack of Political Will and financial commitment by the present government. It would be a thing of joy and honour for governor Okowa to complete the bridge project in order to take the glory for his administration."

" We therefore, urged the SMART Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to show some seriousness by releasing reasonable amount of fund for the contractor to complete the bridge in a shortest possible time.

The bridge project when completed, will connect road network to Okrika, Furukama,Ezebiri,Gekebo Obotebe,Burutu,Odimodi, Ogulagha and other neighbouring riverine communities both in Ughelli South, Bomadi and Warri South-West local government areas, the group stated."

Group Charges Asupa, Pullah To Wake Up In Legislative Business, Commends Guwor, Ighrakpata, Oviejitobor For Legislative Sagacity

....Says Ayakoromo Bridge, Kiagbodo Agbodobiri Road, Ogbobagbene Ojobo Road Needs Attention

Burutu_____ A social cultural political interest group under the auspices of Concerned Citizens For lzon-Ebe Development (CCFID), has urged the members representing Burutu North and South Constituencies in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon.Asupa Forteta and Hon.Pullah Ekpotuayerin to wake up their legislative business, stressing that the duo should start projecting the problems facing the people of Burutu before the Delta State government and other development agencies for attention.

The group also commended the members representing Warri South-West, Udu and Uvwie Constituencies in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon.Dennis Emomotimi Guwor, Hon.Uviejitobor Peter and Hon.Solomon Ighrakpata on their timely legislative alertness by drawing the attention of Delta State government, as well as other interventionist development agencies to the plight of their people.

The group in a Press Statement signed by its National Coordinator, Comrade Oyinbi Onduku said; " Most first time members in the State House of Assembly have started making case for their people. Why my Constituency reps are yet to speak for us. Is it that they don't know the problems of Burutu people? Burutu people urgently needs the completion of Ayakoromo bridge, so as to connect road network to Burutu. The road from Ogbobagbene to Ojobo, Kiagbodo to Agbodobiri road etc needs government attention."

" It is expected that, our elected representatives should earlier raise their voices before the state government in respect of the needs of their constituencies for prompt attention.

Incase Hon.Asupa and Hon.Pullah is not aware, the first time member representing Warri South-West Constituency, Hon. Guwor Emomotimi has started registering students for JAMB as Scholarship for his Constituency Education Support Programme.

What are the  programmes of Asupa and Pullah for Burutu Constituency students. They should start working, much is expected from them by Burutu people, Comrade Oyinbi stated. "

However,  It will interest the good people of Burutu to note that, yesterday Wednesday 21st August, 2019 after sitting in Asaba, the member representing Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Chief.) Peter Uviejitobor while addressing the Press, advocated for a bridge project across Enerhen River to connect Opete Community, as well as to control traffic and complement the aged long popular Udu bridge in Udu local government area.

Also, his Uvwie counterpart, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata advocated for his people by charging the newly inaugurated Board of Warri, Uvwie and Environs Special Development Agency to quickly as a matter of urgency tackle the issue of dilapidated roads and epileptic power supply in the area.

But it was very unfortunate that, the members representing Burutu Constituencies dodge the Press, keep mute and nothing to say.

It was based on this ground, the group called on Hon.Asupa Forteta and Hon.Pullah Ekpotuayerin to as a matter of urgency wake up to be up and doing to exercise their legislative functions, the statement adds.

We are aware that the abuse of use of drugs by the young generation is alarming, expect drastic actions are taken to forestall it, it will end up turning our young youths to nuisance. The authorities saddled with such powers to checkmate drug related crimes should step up more efforts to stop this menace in Delta society before it is too late."

It was gathered that the Chairman of Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Central Zone, Kennedy Olorogun, got wind of the Biafran meeting and mobilized his executive council members and other youths to the venue of the gathering.

Olorogun was said to be angry that Dokubo chose Bayelsa, a homogeneous Ijaw State, to hold such meeting and ordered the founder of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) to leave the state or face the wrath of the youths.

It was learnt that Dokubo, who recently declared his support for the actualisation of Biafra, gathered over 300 persons from across the states in the South-East and South-South to hold the meeting.

The meeting was reportedly convened under the auspices of the Biafra National Council (BNC) and not the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Confirming the development, Olorogun said over 300 persons including Dokubo were already gathered at a hotel in Yenagoa when he led Ijaw youths to the place.
He said quarrel ensued between him and Dokubo when he told the former militant leader that the meeting would not hold in Ijawland.

“When we got the information, we stormed the venue of the meeting to stop them.
“They tried to resist us but we told them we were prepared for them because we will not allow any part of Bayelsa to be used for a meeting calling for the actualisation of Biafra.
“I wonder why Dokubo decided to bring such meeting to Bayelsa. But we stopped them.

“It was getting out of hand but the police intervened to stop possible violence. My happiness is that we stopped the meeting from holding, Olorogun stated.”
