Just-in: Atserunleghe appointed as new acting Ologbotsere of warri as Ayiri suspended

Just-in: Atserunleghe appointed as new acting Ologbotsere of warri as Ayiri suspended

It was a sad moment as Ginuwa I Ruling House suspended Chief Ayiri Emami as Ologbotsere Of Warri, appointed an acting Ologbotsere.

The controversy surrounding the most respected Olu’s Stool, took a new look on Tuesday 30th March, 2021 when the Ginuwa I Ruling House made the suspension announcement of Chief Emami as the the Traditional Prime Minister (Ologbotsere) of Warri in press briefing held at the front of Olu Palace, Warri.

In same light, the Iyatsere of Warri during the press briefing appointed Chief Johnson Atserunleghe to Act as the New Ologbotsere of Warri.

The Press briefing saw in attendance the Leadership of Itsekiri National Youth Council, many Itsekiri’s sons and daughters. Prince Toju Emiko on behalf of the Ginuwa 1 ruling house addressed the press. He claimed that the 1979 Edict on which the Ojoye-Isan acted, “was hurriedly put together by a hand few of our leaders to meet the exigencies of that time. This so called ‘edict’ exasperating as it is, was never presented to the people for discourse at a general assembly of the Itsekiris for purposes of ratification and general acceptance. But the last two Olus, were crowned using this aberration, despising protests and court cases against the law each time, the statement reads in parts;

“Now we come to another cross road. The Ginuwa 1 Ruling House, which is the only Ruling House in the land and which has exclusive powers to nominate a successor to the throne, has been meeting in the last three months, after a convocation of bonafide members of the House, to nominate a successor to the throne. In the end, Prince Tsola Emiko, was picked as the most qualified person to sit on the throne at this time. This was done only after his name was submitted to the Ruling House by majority of the descendants of the last three Olus, even in compliance with the vexatious edict”.

While the 1979 Edict was contended on the fact that it doesn’t give power to Ojoye-Isan power to disqualify any candidate presented to them by the Ruling House, Prince Emiko said, “This singular illegal action of ‘disqualification’ is now threatening the relative peace in Warri Kingdom and almost tearing apart the very fabric of our existence.

“He (Chief Emami) is to immediately step aside as the Ologbotsere and stop parading himself as such.

“The Iyatsere, who is next in Command and in-fact the most senior chief, who accompanied Ginuwa I from Benin to found the Warri Kingdom, is hereby appointed as Acting Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and the Olu’s Advisory Council. He is to take over immediately and steer the remainder of the process to give us an organized, speedy closure”.

Mr. Esimaje Awani, who spoke during the briefing on behalf of Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC noted that the Itsekiri youths’ organ was in support of the position of the Ginuwa I Ruling House.

It was reported that Ojoye-Isan, had on Tuesday March 30, in A meeting allegedly held at the Olu Palace Warri allegedly rejected Tsola Emiko as the choice of OMOBA, presented by the Ginuwa Ruling House on the ground that the choice was not in compliance with the 1979 Edict guiding the process of selecting an OMOBA, who is usually crowned as the Olu of Warri.

There were feelers that the embattled Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayirimi Emami, who presided over the Ojoye-Isan meeting, the Iyatsere of Warri, Chief Johnson Atserunleghe (who interestingly had been mandated by the Secretary to Emiko Descendants Forum and member Ginuwa I Ruling House) to act as Ologbotsere, the Uwangue of Warri, Chief Gabriel Awala, the Otsodin of Warri, Chief Isaac Jemide, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Chief Francis Omatseye and Chief Sam Omamuli A.k.A Omajaja, were in attendance at the Ojoye-Isan meeting, which purportedly rejected Prince Tsola Emiko as OMOBA.

Warri Comes Alive As Taskforce Chairman, Oromoni Begins Reclamation of City's Lost Beauty

Warri Comes Alive As Taskforce Chairman, Oromoni Begins Reclamation of City's Lost Beauty

The ancient city of Warri, known for its beauty and viability in terms of commerce and tourism is set to come alive again, just as the Chairman, Delta State Taskforce on Environment, Mr. Sylvester Oromoni has concluded plans for the reclamation of the city from dirts and illegal activities.

Mr. Oromoni while on an on the spot inspection of Warri/Sapele Road, expressed satisfaction with traders who had complied with instructions to keep the environment hygienically clean for living and business.

It could be recalled that all the stores along Warri/Sapele road that were sited on water channels were recently demolished and standards set for the traders to maintain the new look of the Environment.

Oromoni during the inspection had thanked the shop owners who in the spirit of Stronger Delta anchored on healthy Environment for keeping to Government's order and regulations.

He equally appealed to others who are still recalcitrant on Government's directive, to obey for a better, safe and conducive environment to do business.

According to the hardworking Chairman, "The era of illegal structures on major roads and streets will no longer be tolerated. We are poised to implement the policies and programmes of government, aimed at making our environment healthy, friendly and safe for living and for doing business", Oromoni stressed.

In addition, Mr. Oromoni explained that "The deplorable conditions of cities around the world have often necessitated urban renewal, hence the effort of Delta State Government to making the policy of proper and cleaner environment a reality.

"However, given the intricacies of the processes involved and the dynamic nature of the environment, evaluation of these renewal efforts is imperative to provide required insights to guide future endeavours.

"Our actions usually affect those in government and individuals of all ages and abilities, being part of our important roles to play as stewards of the Government on Environment.

"This is because our vision in the Taskforce on Environment is to build vibrant communities mostly into urban cities. Urban areas are the engines of economic growth as well as locations for complex network of activities that are essential to basic human functioning in terms of living and working.

"However, in addition to gaining nicer living spaces, beautification may cause residents to have increased sense of pride in where they live. While there is no quick fix to the many problems that are present in urban areas, a person who lives in a clean environment may be more optimistic about the future.

"In this circumstance, Delta State Government took interest in urban beautification in order to transform the cities into proper environmental shapes. This policy however, has resulted in the demolition of illegal structures along selected roads, streets and water channels", Oromoni affirmed.

Meanwhile, the effort of the Taskforce is a continual process, especially with regards to demolition of unwanted structures in areas not designated for such including waterways.

Plot To End Amnesty Program: Ex Militants Demands Immediate Removal of Dikkio

Ex-Agitators Asks Buhari To Sack Dikkio Over Plot To End Amnesty Program

...... Says the peace of the country would be threatened if

Francis Tayor

Yenagoa____ Former Niger Delta agitators under the aegis of Refined Niger Delta Militants (RNDM), has called for the immediate resignation of the lnterim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Milland Dikkio (rtd) on alleged plan to terminate the Niger Delta Amnesty programme without achieving the purpose of the programme.

Speaking on the development in yenagoa on Wednesday, the Coordinator of ex-agitators, Gen. Alabeni Otobo expresses worry that if the alleged plan to end the Amnesty programme is true, it will generate to renewed militancy in the creeks of the Niger Delta oil rich region, and the peace of the country would be threatened when that happen. He noted that the consequences would be disastrous to the nation's economy as well as insecurity in the country if President Buhari fails to act fast on this devilish plot against the Niger Delta ex-agitators.

Gen. Otobo reiterated that the Federal government of Nigeria has not fulfilled his part of the agreements reached with the Niger Delta agitators before they accept Amnesty in 2009, noting that out of the Thirty five thousand (35, 000 00) beneficiaries, only about twenty thousands (20, 000) had acquired training and education.

" What will be the fate of the remaining fifteen thousands (15, 000 00) if the programme is abruptly terminated ? That means they have no other option than to go back to the creeks to renew agitation, and destruction of oil pipelines will be the order of the day. And you know the consequences that will befall the Nigerian government if such happen. The Federal government had not even built the 3bedroom flat with a car promised to each of the ex-agitators of the Niger Delta and Mr. Dikkio is planning with the National Security Adviser, Mr. Babagana Mugunu and some of our selfish, myopic self acclaimed leaders in Port Harcourt plotting to terminate the programme. Let Miland go back to study the terms of agreement signed with former late. President Umaru Musa Yaradua of blessed memory before engaging himself unto this fruitless devilish plot against his own people. He should know the reason of his appointment is to serve and protect our interest and not the other way round, Gen. Otobo stated."

Meanwhile, they charged the interim Chairman Dikkio and his committee members to as a matter of urgency follow the lay down procedures by deploying them now to study in the university, if not, the peace in the country would be threatened when they renew hostility in the creeks of Niger Delta.

However, they called on President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President, former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Sen. Ahmed Lawan, Speaker House of Reps, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, ljaw National Leader, Pa. E.K. Clark, Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief. Timipre Sylva, Niger Delta former warlords, High Chief. Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, HRM. King Ateke Tom, Gen. Boyloaf Ebikabowei Victor Ben, High Chief. Bibopere Ajube aka 'Shoot At Sight', Gen. Fara Dagogo and lYC President, Comr Dcn. Timothy Igbifa to caution Mr. Dikkio and who ever is behind the plot to withdraw before things get out of hand in the country, the statement adds.

When lie is allow to go unchallenged, it becomes truth before the public, hence it is important that WE, the coalition of militant generals drawn across three local government areas of Edo state,  popularly known as RIVERINE where Ijaws are, find it expdidient to reply to a misleading online publication that Hon. Daniel Ezekiel engaged in VOTE BUYING.

It is a universal knowledge that there can be no election without money becasue how will candidates carry out campgain, printing of posters, advertisment on radio and television. What about mobilization of party faithfuls to various rallies that cut across the 18 local government areas of Edo state. In United States of America, whom the whole world sees as doyen of Democracy, money is equally part and parcel of their election. DO WE THEN CALL THIS VOTE BUYiNG  TOO ? The answer is capital NO. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa being the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South South Governors Forum, rallied his colleagues in the region to support one of their own, Governor Godwin Obaseki in various forms, just the way All Progressive Congress (APC) governors led by Kano state governor, Abdulahi Ganduje mobllized fund for defeated pastor Ize Iyamu.

Based on the trust and  confidence Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has in his aide, Hon. Daniel Ezekiel, he mobilized him with fund for people of riverine areas to move from creek to creek to sell his party candidate to the electorates on why they should vote for Governor Godwin Obaseki.

We all know that Ijaw parts of the state is a difficult terrain which requires speed boats to navigate. To hire a single speed boat to convey party faithfuls from Benin city, Warri, Sapele, Yenagoa and Porthacourt to places like Gelegele, Safarogbo, Inikorogha, Ofunama, Okomu, e.t.c all in Edo state cost nothing less  than four hundred thousand naira (#400,000 00).

So does this amount to VOTE BUYlNG ? It is only a foolish farmer that blame his unproductive harvest season on his farm tool. APC candidate, pastor Ize Iyamu lost woefully in his unit, ward and in the whole southern zone where he hailed from, if WE may ask, is Hon. Daniel Ezekiel still responsible for this absmal and monumental failure?

The truth of the matter is that pastor Izeyamu lost the election before the D-DAY becasue his political god father, comrade Adams Oshihomole destroyed his image and reputation way back in 2016.

It was so unfortunate that Honrable Blessing Perewari and his younger brother, Destiny Perewari from Ajakurama community, Ovia South  betrayed the trust Governor Ifeanyi Okowa aide had in them by releasing fund to them to mobilize party faithful down to their voting unit in Itagbene, but  Instead of using the money for what it was meant for, they diverted it into their  private pockets there by putting additional cost and responsibility on Hon. Daniel Ezekiel to mobllized party mermbers to go home and vote for PDP.

Opposition in Edo state should blame their   failure on Adams Oshiomole who talks before thinking, instead of engaging on shadow chasing of Hon. Daniel Ezekiel whose record for kindness, justice and transparency is second to none.

And to you Blessing Perewari and Destiny Perewari, we stand by what Hon. Daniel Ezekiel said in his official letters to various party leaders in the state, Governor Godwin Obaseki inclusive that he wants his money back because his Boss wouldn't have released fund to him if he was found wanting in character or show any sign of dishonesty."

Signed:

General Pere Torupofa, On behalf of creeks generals.

Amnesty jamb condition: Ex-agitators calls on Pa Clark, Tompolo, others to intervene

Amnesty jamb condition: Ex-agitators calls on Pa Clark, Tompolo, others to intervene

....... Says they don't know book to write jamb before going to school

Francis Tayor

In what they described as sabotage and deliberate attempt to thwart the genuine efforts of the federal government to restore permanent peace in the Niger Delta oil rich region, the ex-agitators of the region has raised alarm as well as kicked against over the new directive by the Interim Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Miland Dikkio for all former militants to write jamb before they would be deployed to study in the university, saying the condition will not stand the test of time rather it will lead to anarchy and kios in the country.

The ex-agitators under the aegis of the Refined Niger Delta Militants (RNDM) comprises of all the former militants in phase 1,2 and 3 across the nine (9) Niger Delta states, raised the alarm on Sunday March 7, 2021 after an emergency meeting at Machiva Hostel Warri, Delta state warned Mr. Dikkio to immediately deploy them to the various universities the federal government partner with to train them academically within one week time or else, expect an unusual protest that will affect oil pipeline installations that will crumble the nation's economy.

In statement signed by the Coordinator of the group, Gen. Alabeni Otobo said about 95% of the ex-agitators of Niger Delta are illiterates and they want to go to school in order to contribute positively to build a better Nigeria as a country, but the new condition to write jamb is nothing but a ploy to deprive them of their right to study, having dropped arms to embrace federal government amnesty programme in 2009 for peace to reign in the country.

They maintained that the interim Chairman Dikkio and his PAs Alfred Kemepatei and George should follow the lay down procedures by deploying them within a week time, if not, whatever happened after the expiration of the notice, the federal government and the security operatives should hold the above names responsible for breaching the peace in the country. They further draw the attention of the interim management to note that their engagement is to serve the interest of the ex-agitators of the Niger Delta region and not to imposed on them unnecessary conditions that will jeopardize the peace of Nigeria.

However, they appealed to ljaw National Leader, Pa. E.K. Clark, Minister of State for Petroleum, Chief. Timipre Sylva, former Bayelsa state Governor, Hon Sen. Henry Seriake Dickson, Niger Delta former warlords, High Chief. Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo, HRM. King Ateke Tom, Gen. Boyloaf Ebikabowei Victor Ben, High Chief. Bibopere Ajube aka 'Shoot At Sight', Gen. Fara Dagogo, lYC President, Comr Dcn. Timothy Igbifa and all the South South governors to intervene on this matter and call Mr. Dikkio to order before things get out of hand, they stated.

Chief Mulade Calls On Nigerian Leaders To Improve On Education

.......As NUT commends him for promoting education in Niger Delta

......Urges Delta South leaders to emulate him

A renowned Niger Delta  leader cum global environmental/human rights activist, Comrade (Chief) Sheriff Mulade has called on Nigerian leaders to give more attention and improve on Nigeria education sector, stressing that education is the bedrock of every successful nation all over the world.

He gave the charge on Wednesday at Hussey College warri, during the 5th edition of Comrade Sheriff Mulade inter-local government quiz and essay competitions for riverine/rural secondary schools in warri North, warri South and warri South-west LGAs of Delta State, noted that the competition is an initiative of his NGO CEPEJ that is targeted to promote educational awareness among the riverine/rural communities, and also to assist the less privileged but highly intelligent students to pursue their education and career in life through scholarship support.

The CEO/National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, Comrade Sheriff Mulade appealed to South South Governors, especially Gov. Okowa of Delta state, multinational oil companies, as well as well meaning individuals to support and give more attention to education, stressing that education is the bedrock of a nation development. He said this programme was as result of his education challenge in the early days of his life, where he found it very difficult to transport himself to the closest secondary school in the riverine communities to acquire education.

He noted that uptill now, the government has not been able to provide the needed education in the riverine communities.

According to him,”that’s why we continue to talk and appeal to the federal and state governments to pay more attention to the riverine areas.

In his reaction, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT Warri South LGA Delta State, led by Comrade Ikuejawa Ishmeal has commended Mulade for promoting education through this programme, charging Delta South leaders to emulate Chief Sheriff Mulade as the only man in the entire senatorial district who supports education.

The competition was sponsored by the Centre for Peace & Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, in order to bring education more closer to the riverine communities.

However, in this years edition, Atuwatse II College emerged winner and it goes home with one hundred thousand naira (#100, 000 00) cash alongside other consolation prizes.

Timi Expresses Worry Over Ward 10 PDP Leadership lmbalance ln Burutu

Timi Expresses Worry Over Ward 10 PDP Leadership lmbalance ln Burutu

......Calls on Burutu, state party leaders intervention before it's too late

The People's Democratic Party, PDP, in Ward 10, especially the 17 arm of it, is not a private business or personal property, hence, assumed and privileged, persons should not cow to pocket the party. The affairs of the party in the Ward, is descending into the abyss.

The present leadership in the Ward, so to say, and it attendant lord it over, is nothing but, a knife which has come to put, the very fabrics bonding us as party faithfuls, asunder.

They should be cautioned, and call to order before things gets out of hand. I foresee, the imminent of a factional and parallel Exco, in the Ward, in the coming days.

The incompetence occasioned with who are they, nobody is there to challenge, and its nepotistic way of overseeing the activities of the Ward, by some unscrupulous element, is a call to the sharp division, already in the Ward.

To the leaders of the party, in the local government, and that of the state, things are not alright, with the Ward 10 PDP in Burutu, particularly the 17 arm of it. The new pharaoh in town is pharoahic in the affairs of the party. Instead, of the sheriff we have envisaged, night mare stares us in the face.

People should not see the smile, and assume things are alright. It is only a lip service, and that smile is just an activity.

That, impression of things been okay, only exists in the mind of those that, bends truth for their own abracadabra and selfish ends.

No personal feelings against any body or group of persons, but, things and the affairs of the party belongs to all of us, and such, opinion should cut across all, and not, that, way of one issuing orders, from their comfort zones.

We choose to keep quiet, not because, we don't know what to do, such persons should desist from the act. The party belongs to all of us, and not, a private investment. This is not over, enjoy it, while it, last.

In the keyboard, everyone knows the right key to press, but, just enjoy it while it last. The day of reckoning is close! Party meeting venues should be in a neutral places, and not, in an environment that, bias stings.

Until, we review, the Ward party Exco, to accommodate, the general yearning of all members, as well as, incorporate the persons, that have worked assiduously, to share in the beneficial cake, and not just, one immediate family.

Things shall never be the same, in the coming days, and there shall be no peace, if the largesse of the party, does not go round. Let those that have worked, be given, opportunity to benefit. Lets stop promoting nepotism, and failure, incompetence over competent.

How can, from 1998 till date,  one set of persons with attitudinal challenge, forms Exco to the detriment of others, grounded with ideas, and a spirit to work. This habit needs a total overhauling.

The time is near. Lies and deceit, will no longer rule over truth, humility, diplomacy and understanding. There is still a bitch called the day of reckoning, it is a night mare which has come to stay!

To him, who is wise, let such a person change, we are way more than you! This is an inferno, you know too well that, I know.

Just-ln: Taskforce Begins Demolition of illegal structures in Delta

Just-ln: Taskforce Begins Demolition of illegal structures in Delta

Delta State Taskforce on Environment today has begin demolition of illegal structures, shanties and make shift shops under high tension at NPA in Warri South Local Government Area of the state.

The operation was carried out in the early hours on monday March 1st, 2021 after the expiration of one year quit notice served traders by the state taskforce.

Speaking during the exercise, the state taskforce chairman, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni said that all illegal structures and shanties encroachment on the streets are the major target to be demolished, noting that the demolition operation was prompted after the expiration of the ‘Removal Order’ the state government served.

Remember, " We served them abatement notice since 2020 to vacate their shops under high tension, on top public drainage, pedestrians walkways, and we give them the grace of another two months to remove the structures which expires ending of February, 2021. That is a enough time for residents to do the needful but they refuse. Today, we have started the operation, no going back. This exercise will go round warri, Effurun, Udu, Ughelli, Sapele, Agbor, Asaba and other major cities across the state."

However, Oromoni implored Deltans to always seek approval of relevant agencies before erecting their buildings.

"All illegal structures and buildings constructed by persons under high tension without valid approval from the government across the state would be removed

Oromoni further warned miscreants, illegal mechanics, food vendors and owners of illegal shanties across the state to vacate now or face demolition. He said the state taskforce will no longer tolerate incessant defacing the aesthetics beauty of our streets .

He noted that a situation where illegal structures are built attached to electric polls stands a big risk of attracting electric shock, stressing that Gov. Okowa led government would no longer tolerate that in the state, he concluded."

However, the Chairman was accompanied in the operation by the state Coordinator, Comrade Kingsley lweka, Mrs. Obire Rachael, Principal Environmental Health Superintendent, Mr. Destiny Onojaine (Supervisor), Mrs. Philomena Odjegbu, Mr. Michael Oyimor, Hon. Frank Alale among others.
