Read 9 Science-Backed Moringa Health Benefits to Humanity

Read 9 Science-Backed Moringa Health Benefits to Humanity

The ancient tree may be particularly beneficial for women.

Moringa oleifera is a drought-resistant tree native to South Asia and Africa. It has been cultivated for centuries around the world for its potential health benefits. While the plant's leaves can be eaten, it is also found as a supplement in pill or powder form. The leaves have a spicy, arugula-like taste and the powder has an earthy, grassy taste that's similar to matcha. Blend the powder into a green smoothie, pesto, or hummus, or toss it into granola before baking or soups before simmering for a healthy boost.

Prized for its nutritional density, moringa contains zinc, iron, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and copper, among other elements essential to our well-being. “Among the many potential benefits of moringa, two standouts to me are its potential to help in managing blood glucose and blood cholesterol levels,” says Jackie Newgent. “Loaded with antioxidants, moringa also has anti-fungal, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties,” says Dr. Sherry Ross.

While everyone may benefit from incorporating moringa into their diets, the plant can be especially helpful for women, as it may aid with anemia, bone health, menopause, and lactation.

What are the health benefits of moringa?
More randomized, double-blind studies on humans are needed, but preliminary research helps back up many of the centuries-old claims about moringa, such as its role in treating infections, lowering cholesterol, and managing blood sugar levels, to name a few.
1. May lower cholesterol:

Animals (including rabbits and rats) with high cholesterol were fed moringa and had lowered cholesterol levels, according to several studies published in the National Library of Medicine. Lower cholesterol is linked to a decreased risk of heart disease, though more studies are needed to determine if moringa has the same heart-healthy effects in humans.

2. May improve hemoglobin levels:

Hemoglobin, which contains iron, is found in red blood cells and is responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. A lack of healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin is known as anemia, and causes tiredness, weakness, and shortness of breath. This condition is common among women. Moringa may help, as it has been shown to significantly increase hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls as well as postmenopausal women.

3. Promotes antioxidant activity:

Antioxidants are substances that help remove potentially damaging agents, called free radicals, from our bodies. Too many free radicals can lead to disease. Moringa is high in antioxidants, including blood-pressure lowering quercetin, vitamin A, vitamin C, and beta-carotene. In addition to preventing disease, researchers found that supplementing moringa in the diets of postmenopausal women increased their blood antioxidant levels and might help prevent health complications during post-menopause.

4. Plays a role in breastfeeding:

Moringa has been used to aid with milk production in breastfeeding mothers in parts of Asia for centuries, and while scientific research to prove this effect is limited, one study found that moringa leaf cookies improved the protein, fat, carbohydrate, and vitamin A content of breast milk. Another study with 68 postpartum mothers who gave birth to preterm infants found that moringa did, in fact, increase milk production compared to those given a placebo. One study on postpartum women who gave birth to full term infants did not find an increase in the median amount of breast milk, but the total amount of breast milk in the moringa-fed group was 47% more than in the control group.
5. Potentially fights cancer:

Extracts from the moringa root were found to kill liver, breast, and colorectal cancer cells, suggesting that moringa may be a natural source of anti-cancer compounds. Moringa leaves also showed anti-cancer properties and the ability to suppress the growth of cancer cells, but the seeds did not. Studies on human patients, rather than cells, are needed.

6. May support bone health:

The loss of estrogen after menopause is one reason women are susceptible to osteoporosis, or low bone density. But consuming foods rich in bone-building vitamins and minerals, like boron, vitamin C, magnesium, and potassium, can help ward off this degradation. Moringa contains all of these micronutrients, plus others that are critical to bone health and calcium absorption. While one study found no increase in bone density in postmenopausal women who consumed the plant for 12 weeks, another study in rats found a significant increase plus other benefits, like an improved gut microbiota composition. Yet another fermented the moringa leaves and found that this increased the plant’s calcium bioavailability, which significantly promoted the bone growth and strength of calcium-deficient rats.

7. May help fight infections;

All parts of the moringa tree have been shown to demonstrate activities against bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasites. For example: Compounds extracted from moringa seeds may reduce the ability of a bacteria to produce disease, while those from the moringa leaf may help eliminate harmful microbes. Kaempferol, a natural flavonoid extracted from moringa, has an anti-microbial effect. What’s more, a protein from moringa seeds can be used to purify polluted water.

8. Acts against inflammation:

Although some inflammation is natural (it occurs as a result of the body’s response to infection or injury), chronic inflammation can lead to health problems like heart disease and cancer.
Moringa demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory activity in one animal study, though it was not as effective as ibuprofen, and showed similar impressive results in another study on cells. In one study on guinea pigs, it was shown to reduce airway inflammation, which may help treat asthma. In fact, a study of 20 patients with asthma given moringa seed powder found an improvement in the patients’ conditions after just three weeks.

9. Heals wounds and reduces pain:

Moringa has historically been used to treat cuts, burns, and other injuries. In one study on rats, researchers observed a significant increase in wound closure rate and a decrease in scar area after applying moringa leaf extract.

Additionally, several studies have validated the pain-killing effects of moringa, such as one where mice were fed an extract of moringa tree fruits for three days and experienced more pain relief than the control group, and another where moringa was found to be comparable to the anti-inflammatory drug indomethacin.

IYC Warn Against Move To Impeach Governor Fubara, Says Sponsors Must Back Off

The Ijaw Youth Counci (IYC) Worldwide has issued a stern warning to those allegedly hatching plot to illegally impeach the Governor of Rivers State,  His Excellency, Siminalaye Fubara.

As a council, we are warning that the proponents of this undemocratic act in Rivers State must refrain forthwith from such plot as the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide will fight with all they have to protect the Governor of Rivers State who is an illustrious Ijaw son.

A point must be made clearly that the Ijaws are not push overs in Rivers State or any part of the world, we have sacrificed a lot towards the growth and development of the state Rivers State. The Ijaws have contributed both politically and economically in sustaining the state over the years, this to us is a political battle taken too far and a well calculated attempt to deprive the Ijaws from the governance of Rivers State.
We cannot fold our hands and watch how desperate politicians from Rivers state that are in high places plot to unlawfully remove Governor Fubara who has done nothing but have clearly shown working in the development of Rivers State within the last five months that he has held sway as Governor of the state.

As Ijaw people, we will stand with our own as we will not allow anyone or group of persons cause any harm to His Excellency, Siminalaye Fubara, Governor of Rivers State, we cannot sacrifice Ijaw turn as Governor in Rivers State for anything. A fight against Fubara is a fight against Ijaw nation.

However, while Council is interested on the political developments in Rivers State, we are equally using this medium to caution the Rivers State House of Assembly members to be rational in their quest to carryout  their legislative duties. We are aware of the grand plot to remove Fubara for an Ikwerre man to come in as Governor of Rivers State as we will surely resist it.

We are sounding it again for the umpteen time that any move or attempt to impeach Governor Fubara will be resisted by the Ijaw people via every available means. As a stitch in time saves nine.

IYC have also watched with great dismay over the wanton display of impunity from security officials in Rivers State firing teargas, gunshots and the pumping of water targetted at the Governor. To us the Governor of Rivers State had just escaped death.

In view of the above, we are calling on President Bola Tinubu and the Inspector General (IG) of Police for the urgent removal/redeployment of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police as we can no longer trust him to secure the Governor.

Signed:

Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill, Spokesman Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide.

Ex-agitators to Benefit as Ndiomu Partners with Humanitarian Ministry

PAP: Ex-agitators to Benefit as Ndiomu Partners with Humanitarian Ministry

Abuja_____ The Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Major-General Barry Tariye Ndiomu (retired), has expressed the readiness of his administration to collaborate with governments at all levels, ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to provide sustainable empowerment for Niger Delta youths, especially the ex-agitators.

General Ndiomu stated the willingness to work in synergy with MDAs when he received a delegation  from the Youth Empowerment and Social Support Operations (YESSO) of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation, who paid him a courtesy visit at the PAP headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking, the Interim Administrator stated that there is a nexus between the PAP empowerment programmes and those of the Ministry, which he insisted if well harnessed, would present huge potentials and benefits to youths of the Niger Delta.

He spoke on the efforts of his administration to provide different skill-sets for ex-agitators through the various vocational training centres in Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers states and expressed the hope that the teeming unemployed young persons could be trained and empowered to drive the economy of the region when the Centres become functional.
"The major problem we have in the Niger Delta is pipeline vandalism. It happens because many of the youths don't have skills for gainful employment and economic contributions and self-sustenance. It is my belief that your Ministry should have collaborated with the PAP from the very beginning. Going forward, any collaboration has to be deliberate and planned for effectiveness," Ndiomu stated.

"We have turned the Presidential Amnesty Programme around and changing the lives of ex-agitators through our legacy projects and what we require is support towards the cooperative scheme  which is up and running and helping ex-agitators to become entrepreneurs and for those with functional businesses to expand their investments" he emphasized.

General Ndiomu maintained that the relative calmness in the hitherto restive region owes much to the deliberate policies, programmes, and activities of the PAP, which the people have embraced.

"We have initiated the cooperative scheme. What we have started is on course. But funding is inadequate. We need funding to tackle and reverse the huge poverty in the Niger Delta Region. The way to go about it is this cooperative scheme. It is still not as widespread as it should be." the Interim Administrator stated.

He insisted that his administration has cleared debts that it inherited just as it reviewed and renegotiated bloated contracts that it also inherited, which savings have been applied to meet specific needs of delegates especially the scholarship scheme and the ongoing aviation training programmes for pilots and aircraft maintenance engineers within and outside the country.

He urged those persons that have become agents of pessimism and distraction to   join forces with positive minded people to address the challenges of the region.

Earlier, Mr. Richard Romanus,  Programme Manager of Youth Empowerment and Social Support Operations, YESSO said the visit was to seek cooperation and collaboration with the PAP in line with the Ministry's YESSO Hubs, which it currently operates to train youths of the South South Region in the maritime, agriculture and other sectors of the economy.

He thanked General Ndiomu for receiving the YESSO team and said a report on the visit will be submitted to the Minister to plan for the way forward with a view to cement the areas of possible collaboration.

Group Urges Tinubu, Ribadu to lgnore Calls to Rejig Amnesty Program

Group Urges Tinubu, Ribadu to lgnore Calls to Rejig Amnesty Program

South-South____ Some major stakeholders from the Niger Delta have condemned in strong terms an online report credited to a group Movement for the Sustainable Development of the Niger Delta calling for a rejig of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and removal of the Interim Administrator from office.

The stakeholders under the platform of Ijaw Integrity Initiative have described the calls as immature, puerile and infantile coming particularly at a time the Programme is being repositioned to correct the years of error and wastage without impacting on the genuine ex-agitators.
A statement by the Ijaw Integrity Initiative signed by the Chairman Victor Binaebi and the Secretary Ebi Ekiofagha wondered why those it described as disgruntled and unrepentant elements in the Niger Delta are persistent on walking the path of perfidy and bringing an entire ethnic group to national ridicule because of their entitlement mentality, insatiable greed and irredeemable spirit of betrayal.

“We are amazed at the level and length some people can go to enable them to achieve their inordinate ambition. We are aware of all their scheming through treachery, deceit and falsehood using online media sources to seek to influence their way into the PAP office” the group stated.

The stakeholders noted that there need to be a renewed mindset by some persons in the region to enable them to appreciate the innovations initiated by General Ndiomu who they described as a change agent. "He has repositioned the PAP and has done this in line with the ideals of the founding objectives of the amnesty programme and those few persons who see the Programme as a cash-cow are those elements resisting the initiatives through blackmail, media attacks, sponsored protests and agitations".

The group emphasized that “Those persons have remained unrelenting in their efforts to discredit General Ndiomu and are lobbying to prop up their stooge for the office to enable them to reinvent the old ways where payment of contractors who executed phantom projects take preeminence over the welfare of genuine ex-agitators who are supposed to be the primary beneficiaries.”

The Ijaw Integrity Initiative called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to ignore calls by sponsored groups calling out public office holders from the Niger Delta as people from a particular ethnic group in the region are well known to inhibit the culture of pulling down people, particularly when such public officers refused to do their bidding.
The statement noted that General Ndiomu who has a high pedigree came to the Presidential Amnesty Programme with both integrity and ideas and has displayed these qualities through the widely accepted cooperative scheme and the ongoing training programmes for pilots and aircraft maintenance engineers within and outside Nigeria as well as other legacy projects and policies.

Police clash with NDLEA over arrest of Inspector’s wife Selling Cannabis, others

Police clash with NDLEA over arrest of Inspector’s wife Selling Cannabis,

Lokoja_____ Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and officers of the Nigeria Police Force have engaged in a physical tussle over the arrest of a police Inspector’s wife allegedly caught with a bag of Cannabis Sativa and other illicit drugs.

SaharaReporters gathered that the incident happened around 11am on Monday inside A Division police station in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

According to multiple sources, the wife of the police inspector was arrested while distributing the marijuana from her husband’s car, an ash Volkswagen parked inside the station.

However, when the NDLEA operatives moved to take her away with the vehicle, some policemen challenged them and it led to a fight.

“A police Inspector’s wife was arrested by NDLEA yesterday inside A division in Kogi. Bags of cannabis sativa, an ash Volkswagen belonging to her husband were recovered. However, her husband’s police colleagues clashed with the NDLEA officers until their boss came in,” a source told SaharaReporters.
Another source added, “It happened at A division police post. The husband parked the car in front his office. His wife was arrested while distributing the cannabis sativa. However, some policemen tried to stop the NDLEA officers from carrying out their lawful duty until the situation was calmed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police heading the division.

“The woman and her husband’s car containing the bags of weeds and other illicit drugs were later taken to NDLEA office in Lokoja for further investigation. She has so far admitted to the act. The question is; who were her customers inside a police station?”

The NDLEA operatives have in the past arrested several top police officers for drug crimes in the country.

Of note was the arrest of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, and three others for drug offences, whose trial is still ongoing.

SaharaReporters earlier in the year reported that at the court on Kyari’s case, although the prosecution had previously called witnesses, the lead prosecuting lawyer stated that the current set of witnesses needed to be protected because their identities could not be revealed to the public.

Although some lawyers who had cases in court objected to the decision, the judge asked for their partience.

PAP: Ndiomu Seeks Custom Service for Employment of Ex-agitators

PAP: Ndiomu Seeks Custom Service for Employment of Ex-agitators

Abuja_____ The Presidential Amnesty Programme and the Nigerian Customs Service are seeking for areas of mutual collaboration to reaffirm both agencies' commitment towards the progress of Nigeria.

This formed part of the discussions when the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Major General Barry Ndiomu(rtd) called on the acting Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi at the Customs House in Abuja.

Speaking, the acting Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi noted that there is a strong nexus between both agencies in advancing the progress and prosperity of the nation.
He said "while the Nigerian Customs Service is saddled with the responsibility of facilitating trade and revenue generation across the country, the Presidential Amnesty Programme is mandated to ensure the sustenance of peace  in the nine states of the Niger Delta  through the effective management of ex-agitators from the region".

The acting Comptroller General explained that since effective trade facilitation cannot take place in an environment of rancour, the Nigerian Customs Service is committed in ensuring that all geo-political political areas in the country are giving fair consideration in its operations without compromising standards.

He said the Nigerian Customs Service will however look into those areas it could provide assistance because the Presidential Amnesty Programme is critical to peace building in Nigeria with the capacity to raise early warning signals for tactical and strategic planning by other agencies operating the region and elsewhere.
"We have been following the activities of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and I must say we are quite impressed at your efforts in telling the world what you are doing to keep the peace in the Niger Delta " he added.

Earlier, the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme Major General Barry Ndiomu intimated that the visit was to enable him to  familiarize himself with the new management and seek for areas of collaboration.

General Ndiomu noted the delicate state of affairs of the Niger Delta which requires issues of neglect and other complaints to be addressed through inter-agency cooperation.

He said "This is my second time of visiting here and we had earlier made requests for people in the Niger Delta to be given some form of consideration in your recruitment exercises and other operations".

"Most ex-agitators have been through school graduating with flying colors and currently unemployed and the Presidential Amnesty Programme is making a special request to assist some of those persons and we hope to find favour in the Nigerian Customs Service this time around", the Interim Administrator added.

Delta APC Staunch Appeals to Tinubu for Johnny Appointment

Delta APC Staunch Appeals to Tinubu for Johnny Appointment

Francis Tayor

Warri _____ An ljaw youth leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC from Gbaramantu kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Kingsley Peremobowei Mackson, popularly known as King Zubri has passionately appealed to the APC led government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider the former Delta South APC Senatorial aspirant in 2019 general elections, High. Chief. Michael Johnny, others from the ljaw extraction of the party in Delta State for a juicy federal appointment in the current administration.
King Zubri made the appeal on Tuesday in Warri through an open letter addressed to the federal government said High Chief. Michael Johnny has contributed alot in promoting APC in Delta State, stressing that he deserves an appointment in reward of his commitments to the success of the party over the years, especially the recent 2023 general elections that gave victory to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level.

The Gbaramantu born APC staunch lamented the neglect of Delta ljaw APC members for appointment by previous governments, stressing that president Tinubu should change the narrative by giving a facelift with appointment to the ljaws of Delta State in this current administration.
He however, called on His Excellency, distinguishef Sen. Barr. Ovie Obarisi Omo-Agege, the immediate past Deputy President of the Senate and the 2023 APC Governorship candidate of Delta State, and the current senator representing the people of Delta South at the National Assembly, Sen. Joel Thomas Onowakpo to as a matter of urgency recommend High. Chief. Michael Johnny for appointment, adding that the man had served the party faithfully and contributed financially to the growth of the party in Delta State.
Read below full details of the statement:

AN APPEAL TO MR PRESIDENT, HIS EXCELLENCY, BOLA AHMED TINUBU GCFRN, TO CONSIDER DELTA IJAW APC CHIEFTAIN, HIGH CHIEF. MICHAEL JOHNNY, OTHER  IJAW APC MEMBERS FOR FEDERAL APPOINTMENTS

Your Excellency sir, I write with great concerns over the plight of APC members from the Ijaw extraction in Delta State, thereby soliciting your noble attention towards this matter of significance being noted by the Ijaw family over the years.

It has been observed with dismay that certain highly committed members of our great party from the Ijaw extraction who had sacrificed time, energy and their scarce resources in building up the party in the state had not benefitted any thing. Such committed members spent quality time and resources in sustaining the structure of our great party within the Ijaw axis of the party in Delta State for years yet were not considered for the least appointment by the leadership of our party.

This is really worrisome !

Sir, having noted this dismal situation with contrite heart, I humbly solicit on behalf of such committed members of the party who even when our party was at the stage of falling and rising, were highly committed in working for the success of this party over the years. Most prominent among them is Chief Michael Jonny who had done all he could for the APC to remain lively and active when participating in series of electioneering programmes and exercises in the Ijaw extraction of Delta State.
With the level of commitments being noted from these grassroot party members, I hereby call on the leadership of the party in the state through your noble directives, the need to have a rethink about this situation thereby considering such members of merit like Chief Michael Jonny for lucrative political slots in any available office for appointment.

Sir, I am of the opinion that you personally discuss this particular point of relevance with other party officials in the state as well as with Mr President so that the said Chief Michael Jonny and other kindhearted Ijaw Politicians will be recommended for appointments at the federal level.

This will surely serve as an appropriate source of motivation to accelerate grassroot politics within the party to foster unity among the divides of our great party.

Sir, the Ijaw APC members had endured hard times for years even from the creeping periods of our great party, and now that the party is ripe with fruits for members to harvest, it is necessary Ijaw members of the party who had been involved in the task of grassroot mobilization for the success of our dear party be rewarded handsomely so that others who have good intentions would be encouraged to be working in such positive directions.

Unfortunately, some of our fellow party members who are close to the power corridor in Abuja that is expected to encourage hard working party members like Chief Michael Jonny whom they would have recommended to the presidency for appropriate rewarding became obstacle to him despite exerting enviable efforts towards the success of our great party in Delta State.

It is on the basis of such ugly scenarios being noted from some of our fellow party elites that prompted me to advocate for their consideration on behalf of other aggrieved Ijaws in Delta State. It is not a promising situation to note with regard to the future of our great party whereby members who had been toiling tirelessly for years are being sidelined without any just cause by some greedy set of persons in the party.

Interestingly, the said Chief Michael Jonny who had spent quality time, energy and resources in building and maintaining the party structure within the Ijaw Society in Delta State is credible personality with resounding academic qualifications, hence secures respect from generality of people in our Ijaw Society, especially among grassroot members of our great party.

He is dearly loved by the people, hence rewarding him with lucrative appointment for his commitment to the party will be an advantage to our party in the future.

People will acknowledge the fact that there is reward for sincere sacrifices for the lovers of the party. I therefore personally appeal to you to kindly help the Ijaw APC family by using your prestigious office to recommend Ijaws in Delta State to the national leadership of the party to honour their contributions to the party with reasonable appointments.

Distinguished Senator, I am confident that you will share the feelings of the Ijaw APC members by activating the processes of conveying the interest of the Ijaws to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for timely response.

I shall be most grateful if the collective wish of the Ijaws to be offered appointments is effected through your official recommendation, the statement added.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Signed:

Appreciate Ndiomu for his good works, group tells N/Deltans, Stakeholders

Appreciate Ndiomu for his good works, group tells N/Deltans, Stakeholders

Yenagoa ______ Major stakeholders from the Niger Delta have been enjoined to put their differences aside, close ranks and take full advantage of the opportunities presented to them with the presence of interventionist agencies including the Presidential Amnesty Programme to change the fortunes of the region.

The call which is contained in a statement issued in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State by the Niger Delta Peace Advocates (NDPA) says for long, people have been singing in discordant tunes to the detriment of advancing the socio-economic well-being of the region.

The statement jointly signed by Ebitimi Kurowei and Amangiye Thomas, Chairman and Secretary respectively, the NDPA noted that the Niger Delta Region is in a state of distress.

The group noted that “Part of the problems of the Niger Delta are self-inflicted. There is lack of cohesion, unity and the seeming culture of calling out those charged with the responsibility of developing the area to public ridicule is a very worrying trend”.

It said "A case in point is the Presidential Amnesty Programme, where the Interim Administrator, General Barry Ndiomu has made tremendous transformations with a shift from the past and focusing more on the sustainability of ex-agitators now and for the future”.
The Niger Delta Peace Advocates urged people of the region to instead of dissipating energy on disparaging General Ndiomu, they should rather pool their resources together to form a body of experts to offer diverse pieces of professional advice and ideas on how to explore the potentials of ex-agitators and youths from the region towards positive directions.

The group argued that if the Presidential Amnesty Programme and the Niger Delta Development Commission had been established elsewhere in the country, people from such places would have taken full advantage of the opportunities presented by those agencies and work closely with their managements to reap maximally from them.

According to the statement, the NDPA regrets that the reverse is the case in the Niger Delta and wondered why some people have turned themselves into cogs in the wheels of progress in the region.

“We condemn the culture of entitlement among our people particularly the majority of the ex-agitators who are still relying on the monthly sixty-five thousand naira stipend which has become inconsequential under the present economic realities in the country. This mentality has also created a culture of indolence which should be discouraged”, the statement added.

Ikuli Refers the Difference B/W Gov. Diri and Sylva as Light and Darkness

Ikuli Refers the Difference B/W Gov. Diri and Sylva as Light and Darkness

Gov. Douye Diri like everyone of us has a fair share of human weaknesses, but on general assessment, he has done very well to merit a Second Term.

Beside restoring Peace, Unity and Security to our great state that is also the Home and Headquarters of the Ijaw Nation, he has done well in the areas of Infrastructure particularly Road Construction.

He has done well in the Education and Health Sectors and other areas.

His prompt payment of Workers Salaries and prioritization of Pensioners welfare is worthy of commendation.
Today, it is difficult to differentiate between members of PDP and APC because of the way and manner Gov. Douye Diri has brought all Bayelsans together.

The Governor is giving all Sections and Segments of the state high senses of belonging.

There is absolutely no way we can compare Gov. Douye Diri who is humble, unassuming, compassionate and very accessible with Chief Timipre Sylva who believe in using and dumping people.

Sylva knew he had ambition to contest for the office of the Governor of Bayelsa State yet as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources he deliberately impoverished everybody around him including all Chieftains of the APC.

Sylva had opportunity to give Approvals to Bayelsans and other Ijaws to lift products that could have made many Bayelsans to be Multimillionaires and Billionaires, but he deliberately refused. He rather gave such opportunities to non-Ijaws.

He had opportunity to give Employments to Bayelsans but he never did.
He had opportunity to give Scholarships to Bayelsans but he never did.

Why is it that Sylva did not engage qualified Bayelsans as sub-contractors in the multi-billion Dollars ongoing TURN AROUND MAINTENANCE of the REFINERIES, why did he give all the contracts to non-Ijaws?

Bayelsans and other Ijaws are not qualified to handle big contracts that will empower them but they are qualified to support his quest to come back and govern Bayelsa State in his quest for vendetta?

Is it not sad that he connived with others to exclude Bayelsa State from the Road Projects that NNPC executed in many states?

Is this the kind of person that want to come and govern Bayelsa State?

Does he think that Bayelsans do not know his plans to come and cause unimaginable problems in the State?
I am happy that Ijaws have never been conquered by any tribe and there is absolutely no way Sylva can come with external collaborators and conspirators to conquer Bayelsa State and Bayelsans.

The whole Ijaw Nation shall join forces to resist Sylva and his cohorts who are agents of retrogression.
