JKing Alfred Izonebi Pays Glowing Tribute To Late Mentor, King Dr. Robert Ebizimor After 6Years Of Departure To The Great Beyond

That music genius, that peerless philosopher of inestimable value, called King Dr Robert Ebizimor who cleared a clearing,a path,a career, for me and who still guides and lectures me musically in dreams, departed this world today even after telling me on the phone on 27 July 2014 that I should get the musical instruments arranged and ready for his thanksgiving and survival celebratory party.Robby, did you merely trick me and left for the underworld?

Dear King Robert Ebizimor, you are everything in my life. There is no Alfred Izonebi in Ijaw without King Robert.Even the name Izonebi was given to me by you.King Robert was my father, mother, brother, friend and mentor.I can still feel the emotional impact of your departure which still aches and pains me till this moment and it shall remain so forever.

Dear King Robert Ebizimor, in a wrestling match or bout you never bargained for, Death arrogantly arranged it and beat you mercilessly on 31 July 2014 while the whole world was eagerly waiting for your thanksgiving and survival party. No tears could bring you back to me.However, whereever you may be in the DUEAMABOU, know that your musical protege,Alfred Izonebi, is still full of tears and pains that never go away because they dwell in the innermost part of my body.

Dear King Robby, you are my peerless mentor and father who will continue to teach and guide me until my bones grow too old and tired for this world - a time the tired bones will willingly journey to that world at a very old age approved of by all my lovers, fans and believers.

And for those of us who always remember King Robert, let us always remember him on the stage with King Robert Ebizimor's own songs without singing our individual songs on 31 July 2020.Singing King Robert's songs in remembrance on stage would be a soothing and memorable remembrance for the unbeatable philosopher called King Dr.Robert Ebizimor.

FONDLY REMEMBERED BY JKING ALFRED IZONEBI

Marginalization: Ogulagha Kingdom Decries Over Neglect, Writes President Buhari

Marginalization: Ogulagha Kingdom Decries Over Neglect, Writes President Buhari

Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Areas of Delta State yesterday through a Press Conference decries the absolute, total and abject neglect of the Federal Government and the multinational oil companies operating in the kingdom.

The kingdom frown against the total neglect and marginalization despite being the golden hen that lays the golden eggs, yet nothing meaningful is visible seen in the kingdom.

    The statement reads in part.

*The ancient OGULAGHA KINGDOM is comprises of over 30 major communities and several satellite villages under the leadership of a Traditional Ruler, His Royal Majesty, Elder Capt, Joseph Timiyan (JP).......*
*It is of common knowledge to Nigerians and foreigners alike that  OGULAGHA KINGDOM is one of the highest producers of crude oil and gas and the 'BLACK GOLD' is found in all nooks and corners of the Kingdom*..

*There are in fact several National and Multinational Oil and Gas Companies that carry out crude oil exploration, exploitation and production activities in the kingdom and prominent amongst these are; The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited; Nigeria Agip Oil Company, Chevron Nigeria Limited, Britannia 'U' Oil Limited, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO) and OANDO PLC.*

*

*The Kingdom hereby request for the following developmental project to be executed which are not limited to the followings; Shore production at Ogulagha, Obuguru, Osain and Abarabebe communities which lands are being washed away by high and heavy ocean waves, the sitting of a Federal University, Polytechnic and a Federal Medical Center/Hospital in Ogulagha Kingdom; construction of road and drainages in all the communities, dredging and canalization of access creeks in the Ogulagha community, Dredging and reclamation of Stuart creeks in the communities and a bridge connecting the kingdom to warri Urban Settlement.*

They also harped on the quick execution of the Export Processing Zone/ Gas Revolution Industrial Park as the project is designed to cover 27,000 hectares of land, part of which is the land of Ogulagha Kingdom. They opined that the name of the park should be called the Niger Delta Gas Revolution Industrial Park or any other appropriate name that will reflect all the host kingdoms, and not to a particular community as it is being called the Ogidigben Gas Revolution Industrial Park. They request that the leadership of the Kingdom should be consulted, liaised with and be part and parcel of all negotiations towards the actualization of the project. They called on the president to re-energize the process towards making the project a reality as it has the prospect of opening up the Riverine Communities in terms of provision of massive employment.

On Marginal Fields Bidding Process, the kingdom queries the process of bidding for ownership and operation of marginal field exercise of 2020. They lament that, the process does not give preference to indigenous investors who are natives of oil and gas producing communities/kingdoms.
They however, requested that indigenous investors from Ogulagha Kingdom should be given the right of first Refusal in the bidding process. The indigenous investors should have the right to run and operate the marginal fields in their Kingdom and it is only when there are no qualified investors from the kingdom that the bidding should be made open.

6Th Anniversary: Late King Robert Ebizimor, Hero Beyond The End Of Time__By Akparakata Gesikeme

6Th Anniversary: Late King Robert Ebizimor, Hero Beyond The End Of Time__By Akparakata Gesikeme

The Ijaw Nation Celebrates their late Hero, King Robert Ebizimor at Angalabiri his home town, today! It is his 6th Memorial Anniversary!

King Robert Ebizimor, our father will forever live in our hearts, beyond time and space.
In life, he was celebrated, beloved, very influential and the most famous musician in Ijaw land. To paraphrase Voltaire, the French writer, "The musical artist was the best of all his contemporaries". To continue the metaphor, here was a man who lived larger than life, and his legacy lingers beyond death.
And so when we remember his life's work, rather than mourn, let's celebrate and thank God for bringing such an iconic figure and father who changed our lives in more ways than one! And I mean the entire Ijaw race not just his biological children!

And today we are so poised to ask, ' O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory!'

Interestingly, it is often said that a hero is someone who goes to war to kill or get killed. War heroes return home after enduring the  trauma of battle, captivity, or torture. But what benefit does it make for one to take the life of another to be celebrated on earth only to stand against the gate of hell hereafter? As such, it is important for us to celebrate the hero beyond war medals! Celebrate the man who throughout his life dedicated his whole time to heal the broken hearted; to save lives; to unite society; to preach peace, and constantly explore in his songs the dynamics of peace and love over hate and evil; which was what, King Robert Ebizimor stood for. Talk of a modern day hero as he joined a community of individuals to define the essential qualities of selflessness  and courage, and  to be willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good of his society.

King Ebizimor believes to be remembered as much for how one faced death as  for what one accomplished in life. No wonder he  sang not just to impress his audience, but for eternity. Too bad, the Ijaw Nation has lost a rare gem, hence the need for his memorial year after year.

Historically, the late maestro, King Robert Ebizimor was one of the first set of Ijaws to have shot his star into national fame with a hybrid brand of High-life, juju, afro beat, reggae, fugi, makosa, and his traditional owigiri music.

He was born on 25th of September, 1943, to Pa Ebizimor of Angalabiri and Ayamasa towns of Bayelsa state, and Ma Ziwuru of Ojobo in Delta State. He was the last child in a family of  seven. As a child he lost his parents early in life and had to fend for himself right from the 1960s.

As challenging as life was, young Robert had to do a lot of blue collar jobs like hewing of faggots, commercial lumbering ( cutting and rafting of timber), digging and carrying of sand, tapping and supply of palmwine to gin distillation in Angalabiri, Ojobo, Ndoro, Amabolou, and other Ijaw communities. Through this difficult and tasking jobs the hero later discovered his musical talent. He however obtained his basic education at Community Primary School Angalabiri, Secondary Modern School, Patani, and lately School of Basic Studies, now College of Arts and Science, Rivers State.

His musical career started from the moonlit nights as the villagers gathered to listen to his melodious voice. He did that every night to entertain them freely with no intention of making money, but merely enjoying his talent.

His initial set of instruments were the local xylophone, box keyboard and drums. Thereafter, he began to feature regularly at funerals, marriages and other ceremonies. King Roby as he was fondly called developed himself so much that he became so popular within and outside the shores of Nigeria. His musical talent was sharpened by the likes of Osondu, S. K. Karebo, Rex Jim Lawson, Prof. Isaac Koruware Belemu, and others. But his direct mentoring came from Prince David Bull who taught him how to play the guitar.

The muse in Ebizimor waded through so many hurdles in the 1960s, and by the 70s he had produced a number of hit songs, some of which were bestsellers. The musical giant gained popularity in 1974 when the band was formed with his hit song, titled, ' Afalua'. His band Robert Ebizimor & Izon Brothers Dance Band of Nigeria became so famous with impressive hundreds of songs written and composed by him. Amazingly those who were close to him testified to his genius as a man who could tell a full story within a line. " There is no such musician like him ever" testified King Pereama Freetown, the Izon Numuo Pere (II).

His albums and songs include ' Afalua, Papa Money No Be Your Own, Helen, late Ebakpa, Keinde, Destiny, Friday, Amala ogbo of Angalabiri, Amasoma Ebiere ogbo, Bibobara, INC, Dua ama bo, Selefabo Binafa, Atu ka atu, Tompolo GOC, etc.

Worth listening, when he sang, he sang in powerful rhythms and the lyrics were loaded with meaning and philosophy. Though most of his songs were sang in the Ijaw dialect, but few were of pidgin English or a mixture of other dialects like the Efik, or Ghana. He had a powerful gift that could adapt to any language within a second.
As a philosopher of rare breed, his songs dwelt on the wrongs of the society, destiny, politics, and one's determination in life, prevailing on the social cultural norms of the Ijaw Nation.

Apart from his sonorous voice, he was equally versatile in almost all the musical instruments in his band. Though a master of the guitar, he performed equally as the lead vocal for the band numbering about a dozen men and women.  The rendition had wider implications and his influence and outfit subsequently produced a large number of musicians of the Owigiri fame: such as Best man Doupere, Agbeotu Teibo, S. Eseduwo, King Pereama Freetown, Anthony Cockson, Princess Diana, Johnson Mirin, Abraham Young, Melenge, Ade Benin keme, Azene Micah, Eniye Igoli, Izon ebi Fred, Efere Epebifie, Best B, etc.

He was the first musician who exploited the hidden power of the feminine to entertain his enthusiastic audience. During those days, amazons like Doris Etolo, Esi Yemo, Vero Tambowei, ( now Mrs Tunde Smooth), and Embeleakpo Amgbare would take the centre stage as dancing goddesses.

As the greatest and leading exponent of Owigiri, the hero had many titles and awards to his name. The honorary titles of Doctor and Chief earned him a mark of distinction. He was Numou Pere 1 of Izon, Akpo Tolumo Owei 1, Egberi Gbapamo Owei 1, among others.

His popularity grew over the years as he made himself a voice of peace over the militants in the Niger Delta to embrace dialogue against violence. He was a jewel even in boardrooms. He was made a board member of the Rivers State Utility Board in 1981 and then Electricity and Water Committee in 1981-83. The contributions of this priceless musical Icon went beyond using music to unite his people. He had been at the vanguard of our musical revolution projecting Owigiri as a Niger Delta brand of high Life music to international standard.

King ( Dr) Ebizimor was a man of many parts rolled into one. He had a knack for music as for social activities, politics and hobbies as soccer, table tennis, hockey and swimming. He was Chairman, Practicing Musicians Association of Nigeria, Bayelsa state Chapter. He was a member of SALGA Progressive Movement and an Adviser to the Community Council.
He was also a special adviser to the Bayelsa State Government.

His songs had been laden with political undertones and he was quite political most of the times. His name made rounds in the political circles as he once or twice declared his intention to be involved in the politics of the Fourth Republic. Funny enough, the murky political waters was not favourable to the foremost musical hero, an experience he promised not to repeat again in his life time.

As an African, the Ijaw music King had several wives in his youth, and had many children to his dynasty. His last wife was Mrs Peremobo ere Ebizimor.

He lived an interesting life, and died on July 31st 2014 in a ghastly motor accident in Warri.

Even in death, he is still a King whose footprints and size remain indelible in the history of the Ijaw Nation.

May his soul rest in the bosom of the Lord!

Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Committee Report and Battle to Succeed Dokubo

Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Committee Report and Battle to Succeed Dokubo

SUSPENSE still pervades the Niger Delta region amid a clash of interests as the battle to succeed suspended coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Prof. Charles Dokubo, intensifies.

The office of the coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme initiated by the late president Umaru Yar’Adua in 2009, is perceived to be a juicy but hot seat by close observers and had recorded a high turnover in about 11 years of its creation.

General Godwin Abe, Chief Timi Alaibe, Kingsley Kuku and General Paul Boroh, had at different times superintended over the programme prior to the appointment of Prof. Charles Dokubo.

But only Kuku was able to occupy the office for over three years, a feat attributed to the fact that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan who was the sitting president of the country at the time, hails from the South-South region and understood the local politics and sundry interests of his people.

With Jonathan’s exit and President Muhammadu Buhari’s assumption of power in 2015, those who had their eyes on the Amnesty Programme girded their loins to actualise their ambition. They wrestled General Paul Boroh to the ground within a period of two years, and sustained the battle with high vigour till his successor, Charles Dokubo, was suspended from office.

The lobby to step into his shoes commenced in earnest, but the steam soon evaporated when there was no clear signal on the terms of reference and duration of the caretaker committee constituted by the National Security Adviser, General Mohammed Monguno, to manage the Amnesty Programme in the interim and review its operations.

However, on Tuesday, July 21, the committee reportedly submitted its report to President Buhari, in which it made wide-ranging recommendations. Expectedly, the submission of the report has thrown the gladiators back to the trenches, as well as some new entrants, in a titanic battle to succeed Dokubo.

Chief Mike Loyibo and Chief Dennis Otuaro, a younger brother to the incumbent Deputy Governor of Delta State, Kingsley Otuaro, are among those in the race to succeed Dokubo, while no fewer than eight contenders have recently enlarged the list.

They include a dental surgeon, Dr. Chris Ekiyor, a former commander of the Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General B.T Ndiomu (retired); another ex-military officer, Col. Dedis Abel; and the Personal Assistant to the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege.

Three leaders of ex-Niger Delta agitators, Chief Reuben Wilson, Chief Ebikabowei Victor Ben, and Chief Selky Tile Torughedi, alias Young Shall Grow, are also in the race.

All the contenders for the plum job, it was learnt, had submitted their resume to the office of the National Security Adviser and the presidency, amidst suspense in the Niger Delta region on who becomes the next coordinator of the Amnesty Programme.

Various interest groups are said to be intensifying consultations as they x-ray the profiles, competence and the commitment of the contenders to the interest of the Niger Delta.

Not much is known about the former military officers apart from the fact that Col. Abel was a member of the Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA, Course 23; a mate to the NSA, General Monguno, and served as the Chief of Staff to Dokubo’s predecessor, General Boroh; while General Ndiomu, who, like Abel, also hails from Bayelsa State, was a member of NDA Regular Combatant Course 29 and held various positions, including Garrison Commander, Nigerian Army Headquarters. Born on May 2, 1963, Ndiomu was also Chief of Training and Operations at the Defence Headquarters.

Feelers from the presidency indicated that it will also not be an easy walk into the office of the coordinator, Amnesty Programme for the candidates.

Dekawei Appeals To Ijaw Lawmakers In Delta On Swift Presentation Of CADA Bill, Says CADA is the collective interest of all Ijaws in Delta

Dekawei Appeals To Ijaw Lawmakers In Delta On Swift Presentation Of CADA Bill, Says CADA is the collective interest of all Ijaws in Delta

Binebai Princewill

Abuja_____ President general of the revered Niger Delta Socio Cultural Group under the aegis of Delta Ijaw Youth Movement for Political Advancement (DIYMPA), Amb. John Dekawei has appealed to all Ijaw Lawmakers in the Delta State House of Assembly to swiftly deal with the bill seeking to create Coastal Areas Development Agency (CADA) in Delta State.

President of the Delta Ijaw Youth Movement for Political Advancement (DIYMPA), Amb. John Dekawei  made this known to newsmen in Abuja yesterday via a statement he personally signed and issued, a copy of which was sent to The Liberator Newspaper.

The young and renowned Niger Delta philanthropist stated that CADA is the collective interest of all sons and daughters of the Ijaws in Delta State and beyond, stressing that such an important bill must not be delayed at any cost.

Speaking further on the issue, Amb. Dekawei said the destinies of those living in the coastal part of Delta State and their communities are tied to CADA as its legislative impute will give way for its creation by the executive arm of government in the state.

He maintained that it has to be one step at a time as the excuse of not creating or establishing CADA in this political dispensation should not be the fault of the lawmakers for failing to present it on the floor of the Delta State House of Assembly for ascent by the Governor of Delta State.

Dekawei while lauding the idea behind CADA noted that if created, such will be one of the important thing that Delta Ijaws will be celebrating as it will be having the capacity to add more value to the long forgotten communities within the creeks of Delta.

While stressing on the need why CADA must not go through much debate either in the house or the state Executive Council, Amb. John said there is already Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency and Delta Capital Territory Development Agencies created by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa after undergoing legislative processes.

He said CADA cannot be different from other similar agencies as it would mean a lot to the coastal communities and her people in the state, adding that some of these places are the largest producers of oil in the state hence compensating them for the many years of unrequited oil revenues with CADA remains the best thing to do.

The Niger Delta human rights activist insisted that CADA is supposed to have been created long before any other agency in Delta State as the coastal areas needs development more than any other areas.

While lamenting on the poor state of things, Dekawei said those living in the coastal areas of Delta State despites their economic viability have been denied with iron fisted manipulation to enjoy any form of social amenities.

According to him, establishing CADA will to some extent balance the  age long imbalance of alienation in the coastal areas of Delta State.

"Oppression under any guise must and will be resisted, we can't be treated as second class citizens always, CADA must be established for the coastal areas to have some sense of belonging as the hen that lays the golden eggs"

It would be recalled that Amb. John Dekawei is the chairman cum founder of the John Dekawei Foundation (JDF), a Non Governmental Organisation he has used in transforming the lives of many across the globe.

Re: Tricycle Operators Protest Alleged Police Extortion In Ughelli, A False And Misleading Publication, Says Oromoni

Re: Tricycle Operators Protest Alleged Police Extortion In Ughelli, A False And Misleading  Publication, Says Oromoni

The recent report on daily independent newspaper accusing the Nigeria Police, Ughelli command of extorting tricycle operators is not only false but misleading.

Chairman of State Taskforce on Environment, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni addressing newsmen at Asaba,
stated that the police impounded 10 tricycles (Keke) for using Federal roads and that was what prompted the protest.

Accusing the police of making offenders to pay five thousand naira for each keke of extortion is not true, but misleading as the monies charged was not even for the police as claimed by the protesters.

Going forward, the Commissioner for transport waded into the matter and proposed to plead for more time but that does not mean to say that Keke will continue to ply the Federal Government roads. We are coming back for real enforcement Oromoni stressed.

It is no longer news that the Delta state Government had place a ban on tricycles from using Federal Government roads right from the administration of His Excellency Emmanuel Uduaghan which is still enforced by the present administration of His Excellency Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, from plying the Federal highways. The Taskforce on Environment only came up to enforce the already existing laws of the state and would not be blackmailed or intimated from doing what is right.

Today, it is estimated that there are well over 100,000 tricycles in the state. Despite the enormous harm they cause, they are growing in number.

Most of the accidents involving commercial cyclists are caused by impatience and non-observance of road signs and traffic rules which have resulted in fatal accidents leading to loss of life.

Here in Nigeria, the introduction of tricycles many years ago was widely publicised as a poverty mitigation gesture on the part of government since many unemployed youths and other individuals were expected to benefit from it through ownership at subsidised rates. Its coming received a rousing applause by many who had made up their mind never to patronise okada anymore.

Today, every nook and cranny of our pilot cities are bursting to the seams, as it were, by the three-wheeler. What was then generally accepted as a blessing has over time degenerated into a traffic nightmare for road users. For the most part of the day, Keke operators as they are fondly called are seen struggling to outdo other road users with utmost recklessness on the road in their mad rush to beat the traffic, even when traffic is moving smoothly.

Just this week, 3 Keke accidents happened between Niger cat junction and Agbarho with one death recorded. This will reaffirm the Call for urgent enforcement of the traffic laws, since it may be difficult to ban them outrightly in the state.

Some of the tricycle operators who spoke on condition of anonymity told reporters that the reason they are always in haste is to meet up with daily targets. They explained that it is so for those whose Keke are on hire purchase.

“You know, these tricycles do not belong to the drivers or riders as the case may be; and we pay the owners daily, weekly or monthly. So, any hour missed or lost on traffic gridlock has eaten deep into what we should make for that day. For this reason, we struggle to make that money. The owner does not want to know if there is hold up on the road or not. He is after his money.

Road Side Trading: Taskforce issues quit notice to Jigbale Market traders

Road Side Trading: Taskforce issues quit notice to Jigbale Market traders

Francis Tayor

Warri_____Delta State Taskforce on Environment has issued a one-week ultimatum to traders, shop owners displaying goods along Udu road by the popular Jigbale market, and under sub-power station in Udu Local Government Area of the state to evacuate roadside trading or risk arrest and demolition of such illegal shops.

The State Taskforce gave the charge on Tuesday following a series of complaint by motorists, as well as commercial transporters plying Udu axis who daily encounter traffic gridlock by the popular Jigbale market as a result of road side trading.

Chairman of the Taskforce, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni stated this through the Coordinator in charge of Delta South/Central, Comrade Kingsley lweka.

He warned that the state taskforce has given Jigbale market women one week grace to enable them relocate their illegal shops from the road side.

He stressed that by Monday next week, a team of the taskforce will reinforce back for full operation, stressing that anyone caught flouting the order will be arrested and prosecuted immediately.

While emphasising on structures under high tension cables and other sites prohibited for habitation by law, he said it was unfortunate that some residents in the state were so desperate that they could conveniently live and work under high tension cables without considering the consequences.

According to him, " the role of any responsible government is to ensure safety of lives and property at all times and the current administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa would do everything to ensure that lives and property were not endangered."

However, Iweka has equally warned other market women, especially Ugbuangue, Okere, Effurun etc to prepare and be on the safe side of the law, noting that the taskforce team will storm them anytime from now, the statement adds.

Meanwhile, the taskforce also served 48hrs abatement notice to JSB Heroes Poly Company along Warri Sapele road, opposite Urhobo College to clear off wastes indiscriminately dumped within and around their business premises.

Featured Article: Asiughwuru Street's Criminality And Governor Okowa__Ekanpou Enewaridideke

Featured Article: Asiughwuru Street's Criminality And Governor Okowa__Ekanpou Enewaridideke

Somewhere in Delta State criminality boldly walks on the surface of the earth. The purveyor/generator of that bold criminality is known but nobody challenges him because everybody is petrified. At his whims and caprices the purveyor of that criminality raids and terrorises everyone, boldly announcing his name as Mr. F and that people are free to report him to law enforcement agencies. Boldly he always tells those he terrorises and raids that the security agencies  in Delta State  can do nothing to him because he is untouchable with a mystical  power to crush them. Have Governor Okowa and the Deputy Governor Otuaro, whose phonologically loud assonantic dance of the vowel 'O' administratively welds, yokes and glues them together in their daily dance of administration, heard of this story of criminality on rampage somewhere in Delta State?

Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa is the governor of Delta State; he is the governor whose doors of communicative contact are constantly kept open for complaint-arrival, complaint-departure and complaint-dissolution. He is also the governor whose vision to finish strong is on voyage towards the 2023 harbour where all the cargoes are programmed   to be off-loaded as a stevedore would do.

It is, sadly, Okowa from whom the suffocating criminality in Asiughwuru Street in Okumagba Avenue, Warri, is deliberately or inadvertently kept, and so the notorious criminal in Asiughwuru Street professionally engages his trade with dexterous unpredictability and savagery carrying an unprecedented independence more independent  than the American Independence of 1776. For those who don't know Governor Okowa does not know, Okowa becomes the beach-head for the vilification of the PDP-led government of Delta State because there is a ferocious and cannibalistic reign of criminality in Asiughwuru Street let loose by that notorious criminal everybody knows and only pointed at from a geographically safe distance.

Dear Governor Okowa, because you said Deltans should bring to you their travails which you are poised to carry on your head and ritualistically sink into the ocean as your administrative EKIAN, I have to tell you a story you are deliberately quarantined from as a new-fangled epidemiological mechanism allowed only in Covid-19 struck terriritories.

Criminality roams Asiughwuru street of Okumagba Avenue in Warri. The roaming criminality has grown out of known proportion because it has developed mighty wings deployed capriciously to terrorise the harmonious hitherto habitable space there. The matter has been promptly reported to the Delta State Commissioner of Police but the Police Commissioner said he would not send any police there because the criminal terrorising the street had the capability to consume his boys. He does not want his police officers dead in the hands of a cannibalistic criminal whose dexterous savagery everybody knows. Has a single notorious criminal become more powerful than the Commissioner of Police?

Because the Delta State Police confessed their incapability and unwillingness to confront the criminal, the matter has been equally reported to the JTF. The JTF Commander is even more terrified and unwilling to engage this so-called notorious criminal. The JTF even threatens to physically humiliate anybody that brings any matter of that notorious criminal to them. Are the police and the JTF in any collusion with that notorious criminal?

For a notorious criminal who has seemingly overpowered the Police and JTF, only Governor Okowa and the Delta State Waterways and Land Security committee could salvage the worsening situation. Chief Boro Opudu, the Chairman of Delta Waterways and Land Security Committee could disorientate and teach that criminal a commensurate security lesson. Chief Boro Opudu to teach that criminal a security lesson?Alas! even Chief Boro Opudu has warned me timely against him because he does not want any clash with that area boy. The confessional statements of the Police, JTF and Chief Opudu point to the fact that  only you (Okowa),impressively animated by a vision to finish strong in Delta State, could come for rescue operation if you are lucky not to be outwitted by the notorious criminal On rampage in the street.

Okowa, may you Dance into the arena as the young Ozidi to eliminate the criminal terrorising Asiughwuru Street since that criminal had earlier killed the first Ozidi of Jp Clark's creation. Our divinatoin, like Ola Rotimi's divination in GODS ARE NOT TO BLAME, reveals that only you(Okowa) have the antidote against the merciless criminal. However, before you launch a deadly attack against that notorious criminal, which I know you will definitely do after this baptism of intimation, let me reveal to you his modus operandi  so that you aim accurately at his achilles heels and celebrate his instant death:That so-called notorious criminal often begins his unpredictable dance of savagery on targeted days. On those targeted days which are always quite unpredictable, he raids the entire Asiughwuru Street. Whenever the raid begins, it lasts for over eight hours without any law enforcement agency coming for rescue operation. All the escape routes are usually blocked and every household raided and robbed on those marked days. Some routes through which those in Asiughwuru street could have escaped are being barricaded by illegal builders and land-developers who feel that it is their inalienable right, their perogatgive, to barricade Asiughwuru street with a jaw-dropping impunity and dead conscience.

Dear Okowa, that notorious criminal in Asiughwuru Street even the Police Commissioner Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, the JTF Commander Admiral Akinjide Akinriade and the Delta Waterways and Land Security Committee Chairman, Chief Boro, Opudu are too terrified to confront is fondly nicknamed Mr. Flood. That criminal named, Flood, has been terrorising Asiughwuru Street for a very long time even before the arrival of your government in 2015. The criminal would first invoke rain upon the street and develop a canal, a river, in the street. The street turned into a canal, all the drainage points illegally blocked by land-developers, he would systematically raid all the households on a canoe  because the encumbrance of motors and tricycles is no longer on the street as it has dramatically been turned into a canal likelyto consume them if they dared.

In Asiughwuru street there are  no proud gutters, only shallow and dead gutters propositioned and embraced by contextual desertification, as land-developers have illegally blocked all the hitherto functional drainage anchor points. Whenever that criminal Flood canoes and raids the street pitlessly, it always leaves unchallenged by any law enforcement agency. While Mr. Flood canoes and raids the street, the inhabitants of Asiughwuru Street would empty their dustbins into the River or canal and further compound the environmental pollution and discomfort. These conscienceless inhabitants of the street are also criminals in collusion with the criminal called Flood brought by heavy rain. Could this criminal called Flood be the bringer of what they call flash flood deployed by Mr.Flood as the instrument to develop the consuming canal in Asiughwuru Street?

The people of Asiughwuru Street want freedom from the criminality of Mr. Flood. Only you (Okowa) can arrest the criminal and cage him perpetually beyond resurgence because you have the required technology to exterminate Mr.Flood. The criminality of Mr. Flood in Asiughwuru street is more ferocious and destructive than the senseless marauding Covid 19 in the world.

Already there is an exodus from Asiughwuru Street because the security agencies are hamstrung and the people left to the claws of Mr. Flood who canoes and chastises them with scorpions. Everyday there is an exodus because houses are mercilessly raided by that criminal feared in security circles. The dead gutters of Asiughwuru Street are often polluted with household chemicals from dead generators. The inhabitants have been besieged and beleaguered by the notorious criminal the security agents are too scared to dare face to face.

Dear Okowa, even where you are cunningly outwitted by that criminal called  Mr. Flood   -  which is an impossibility - do not lose your sleep because there are many ways to kill a rat without blood. Please, Your Excellency, assemble or congregate professoinal rain-makers and  pay them handsomely to channel the rain to other nearby streets with good drainage system whenever it rains so that the criminal Flood would be deprived of his primary enablemlent to raid and terrrorise Asiughwuru Street at his whims and caprices. If professoinal rain-makers engaged could barricade the rain, the serial terrorist of Asiughwuru Street named Flood would be hamstrung, and his criminal thought of constantly capricious raid of the street would have evaporated.

Governor Okowa is likely to finish stronger than envisioned if, among  other things,. he is able to arrest and cage the notorious criminal perpetually terrorising Asiughwuru Street with unpredictable savage ingenuity. If minor criminals like illegal land-developers, builders, wealthy men whose dead generator fumes and chemicals pollute the air and the dead gutters and the disgusting criminals who
wait for the rain to empty their stinking dustbins into the Asiughwuru Street canal savagely developed by the criminal Flood could be caged punitively alongside the  assassination of the criminal Mr. Flood, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa shall be remembered forever by Asiuguwuru Street in Warri and kept as a sacred archival material drawn on from time to time  by generations born and unborn for inspirational reference and guide for future developmental projections in a world positively challenged and  inspired by the developmental imprint of a gone generation -  particularly a generation filled to the brim, like a gratified or grateful river bank, with the philosophy of finishing strong in Delta state  -  if not  even philosophically stronger than envisioned by Governor Okowa and his Deputy Governor  Otuaro with whom he daily enjoys phonologically assonantal reverberations onomatopoeically reinforced by the ubiquity of 'o' in their God-given identities.

IYC Convention: My Administration Is More Committed On Developmental lssues That Affects ljaw Nation Rather Than Interfere On IYC Election, Gov. Douye Diri Tells ljaw Nation

IYC Convention: My Administration Is More Committed On Developmental lssues That Affects ljaw Nation Rather Than Interfere On IYC Election, Gov. Douye Diri Tells ljaw Nation

Francis Tayor

Yenagoa_____ The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Sen Douye Diri said he decided to distance himself from the just concluded Ijaw Youth Council election because his administration was more concerned about de-politicising the umbrella bodies that represent the Ijaw nation, particularly the IYC and the Ijaw National Congress (INC).

He spoke on Tuesday at the Government House in Yenagoa when former INC and IYC leaders visited him to introduce the newly elected IYC National President, Conrade Dcn. Peter Timothy Igbifa.

The election held in Oporoza, Delta State, was described as free and credible without any interference from the Bayelsa governor, whose state is regarded as the Jerusalem of Ijaw nation.

He noted that his decision was hinged on his administration's deliberate principle of non-alignment and non-interference in the organisations and organs of Ijaw unity and development.

Senator Diri emphasised that having played key roles in the history and progress of the INC, he was not ready to midwife a repeat of what had divided the Ijaw people in the past.

He said soon his government would convene an all-Ijaw leadership summit.
His words: “What this administration is doing is to depoliticise the Ijaw Youth Council and the Ijaw National Congress. That is the only way we can move forward in the environment that we find ourselves in the current Nigerian state.

“We cannot afford to have an acrimonious IYC. We cannot afford to continue to have a divided, factionalised and acrimonious INC. Therefore, this is the beginning of the depoliticisation of our supra-Ijaw organisations.

“This brings me to the current factionalised and fractionalised INC. Let me state that this government, which is the government of the Ijaw people, is thinking and planning an all-Ijaw leadership summit.”

The governor said he looks forward to an INC that is as vibrant as it was in the days of Chief Joshua Fumudoh, who led the delegation, and when the Ijaws spoke with one voice and was a force to reckon with in Nigeria and globally.

“That was when the world began to realise that the Ijaw nation was not only limited to the old Rivers State but that we were also in five other states.

“We want that old time religion to come back. That is why this administration will not interfere but rather assist in forging the unity of the Ijaw people and bring about the much needed development. We can only develop if we are united.” While congratulating the new IYC President, the governor urged him to build it to an enviable height and not assume the role of a strong man.

According to him, “strong men don’t last but strong institutions do.”
Earlier, the pioneer INC President, Chief Joshua Fumudoh, said the just concluded IYC election was the most free and most credible election of the organisation witnessed in recent years.

Fumudoh noted that the desire to have an inclusive IYC across the Ijaw clans saw the emergence of Comrade Igbifa from Akaba in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State as president.
He commended Senator Diri and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ehwrujakpo, for their neutrality in the election.
The delegation had past IYC presidents, including Mujaheed Dokubo-Asari, Oyinfie Jonjon and Dr. Chris Ekiyor among others.

1 That the  Egbesu Brotherhood is not a pacifist religious practice that requires us to kowtow in the face of injustice but to rise to the occasion to defend the wealth and heritage of our people the Ijaw people and the Niger Delta people in general when necessary .

2 We have been too quiet on the happenings that are clearly a sign of greater impunity to befall our people, if we do not act as fast as we will now, even as we also call on IYC and all stake holders in the region to rise to the occasion and save the Nddc and Amnesty Office from rots and corrupt people , and that the silence of the self styled NDA who claim to be fighting for the interest of the Common man of the niger delta is becoming a mirage

4 .That we support the On going Probe by the National Assembly to audit to the extent that the list of every company or individual that has taken part in the mismanagement and merciless looting of our collective wealth should be published irrespective of the owners profile.

5 .That we are embarrassed by the wickedness of our own Niger delta leaders like Akpabio, hence we support the probe of the national assembly on the Interim Management Committee and any fraud related activities within the NDDC.

6 .That we will resist any form of arm twisting Or blackmail that will result to the end of the national assembly probe, as it is the collective destiny of our people that is being carted away through fraud and financial misappropriations.
