SPDC Hazardous Chemical: Ogulagha Youths Clarify General Public On The Source, Location And Cause Of Dead Fishes

SPDC Hazardous Chemical: Ogulagha Youths Clarify General Public On The Source, Location And Cause Of Dead Fishes

...... Says SPDC Waste Disposal line is located in Ogulagha Community and 7KM away from Odimodi

Warri _____ The youths under the leadership of Mr Anthony Okilo Waterwei in Ogulagha Community under Ogulagha kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State has faulted and Debunked an online publication made by the youth president of Odimodi Community, Mr Akin DC, Claiming SPDC Waste disposal line and Forcados Terminal has been "located in Odimodi Community" which in it's entirety is not true.

Mr Anthony refuted the said publication in a press statement which was made available to newsmen in Warri.

The statement Reads;

" The dead of fishes found floating on our sea and shorelines particularly in Ogulagha kingdom, neighboring kingdoms and villages in Burutu and Warri South West LGAs, Delta State and other parts of Niger Delta region is not new to us and even the Government.

We want to thank God that one of our Neighbour who happens to be the youth president of our neighbouring community "Odimodi Community",  Mr Akin DC who made efforts to find the cause and source of the dead fishes.

We are pleased with your findings and doggedness as regards the cause of the dead fishes. it was a good one but, we wish to draw your attention to paragraph three (3) of the  said publication stating that  the "dead fishes were caused as a result of  SPDC's Hazardous chemicals Discharged into our sea through their waste Disposal line in ODIMODI FORCADOS TERMINAL" which we the Ogulagha Community youths find as not true, false claim and misleading.

For the sake of clarity and to Educate you of your Ignorance, we want to categorically state it that Odimodi Community is never a host to SPDC but, just an impacted Community.

We find your statement worrisome and incorrect because, Ogulagha Community in Ogulagha Kingdom, is the legitimate host to SPDC and FORCADOS TERMINAL where the water disposal line is also located.

We hereby call on  the general public to disregard such a misleading publication as Odimodi community is about 7KM far away from the SPDC water disposal line and hereby warn Mr Akin DC to decease from such act as we will not take it from him or any other group persons next time"

Mr Anthony stated.

Below is Distinguished Comrade Akin Dc, a Youth Leader from the Oil rich region of the Niger Delta. Who dared to make a difference. He took his time to investigate the reasons why Fishes are dying on the shore lines and this is what he found.

The dying fishes are Caused by SPDC pouring hazardous chemicals into our sea through their waste disposal line in Odimodi forcados terminal. Yesterday, he was invited to the Senate of Federal Republic of Nigeria for a public hearing on the issue...

Guess what, he did Justice to the topic. That most Senators from the region had to give him handshakes... This is how advocacy should go in the 21st Century... Mr Akin Dc, you have made NDU Geology Department proud. Keep been our ambassador and the people you represent as the Odimodi Youth President. To your rising, there is no limit.
