Just-ln: Delta Govt. Gives 7-days Grace Extension To Tricycles Plying Prohibited Routes Across The State

The Delta State Taskforce on Environment has issued a seven-days extension to tricycles owners and operators in the state to avoid the routes shown on the diagram below with effect from July 7.

Chairman of the Taskforce, Honourable Sylvester Oromoni in a statement said enforcement will start in the morning of 8th July 2020, adding that anyone who flout the State Government's order by using the prohibited routes will have their tricycles confiscated.

According to Oromoni, Special Operations to clamp down on violators of this order and to embark on massive enforcement at the expiration of the seven days ultimatum are already warming up.

“The massive clampdown will begin from on the 8th July 2020.

"The Coordinator covering Delta Central and South, Comr Iweka Kingsley in addition said that the taskforce is giving this seven days ultimatum because we want to put up a human face in carrying out the exercise.

"The State Taskforce Chairman had wanted us to start immediately due to his desire to save the lives of people being killed and maimed by tricycle otherwise known as keke," he explained.
