Amb. Okporoko hails Tompolo, Salutes FG Over Pipeline Security Job 


Warri ____ Notable Urhobo youth leader,  Ambassador (Chief.) Godwin Okporoko, has rejoice with Tompolo over award of pipeline surveillance contract to him by Nigerian Government, while commending the Federal Government in finding  High Chief. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo worthy for the job.

Amb. Okporoko spoke to newsmen on Wednesday in Warri, Delta State, described Tompolo as a leader with a reputable character and has the interest of his people at heart.

He said the award of pipeline surveillance contract to Tompolo is in the right direction taken by the Federal Government to curtail oil theft, pipeline vandalization and illegal bunkering, adding that the job will further foster peaceful coexistence amongst the various ethnic groups in the region, and strengthen the security network in the riverrine areas in order to ensure economic stability as well as national economic growth.

According to Okporoko, said: 
“  I commend the Federal Government for awarding the pipeline security and surveillance contract to our brother, Tompolo to protect pipelines and oil installations in the Niger Delta region. This timely gesture by the Federal Government will engage youths in the Niger Delta and this will drastically reduce oil theft in the region."

He however, called on Niger Delta communities particularly, Delta State to remain calm, noting that Tompolo will ensure that the host communities and stakeholders are adequately carried along.

Okporoko, who hailed from Ughienvwen kingdom in Ughelli South LGA, Delta State, assured that Tompolo will ensure that no Urhobo oil and gas bearing communities is left out or neglected in the pipeline surveillance job because Urhobo has numerous pipelines and oil installations including the Otorogun gas plant, the statement added.
