Ayakoromo Bridge: OKowa Orders SETRACO to Mobilize to Site, Caution Against Community Disturbance

Warri _____ As Governor Okowa led Delta State government reaffirm its commitment to complete Ayakoromo bridge project in Burutu Local Government Area  of the State before leaving office on May 29th 2023, the state government has ordered the new company SETRACO Nig Ltd to as a matter of urgency mobilize to site and commence work in order to complete the project on time.
The statement was made on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary (PS) Ministry of Works Delta State, Engr. Fred Edafioghor when he led a team of his staff including the Director, Engr Mrs.J.C. Aboloje, Zonal Chief Engineer, Engr Chukwu Eric and Superintendent Engineer, Engr Kenneth Okpor as well as SETRACO area Manager, Engr. Jayjay alongside ZEROCK officials to the project site at Ayakoromo.
Addressing journalists during the visit, the PS Engr. Edafioghor said they are on site with the new contractor SETRACO in order to rectify the challenges with respect to the access road to site and also direct the previous contractor ZEROCK to quickly demobilize so as to enable the new contractor mobilize and commence work.

He noted that state government has made advance payment and ofcourse has given a marching order for the speedy completion of the all important Ayakoromo bridge Project to the riverine communities, especially the people of Burutu, Ughelli South and Bomadi, hence it is expected that the new construction company should do his own part of the bargain by fully mobilizing to site for action.

Recall that Gov. Okowa terminated the project as a result of lack of performance by the former company and re-awarded the job to SETRACO. In no distant time, the project would be completed for commission, Edafioghor asserted.

However, the state government used the medium to caution against the youths of both communities, adding that government will not tolerate any kind of disturbances while the new contractor mobilize to commence work.

In his reaction to the development, the Community Liaison Officer (CLO), Dcn. Desmond G. Edumogiren thanked and appreciated the State Government's renewed commitment towards the project.
He specifically appreciated the governor, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. lfeanyi Arthur Okowa for matching his words with action by promptly mobilizing the new contractor SETRACO to site. 

He however, appealed to both host Communities Ayakoromo and Egbo-Ide to corporate by creating the enabling working environment as usual for the new contractor SETRACO to finish the bridge at the government stipulated time, Edumogiren stated.
