PDP Ogbe-ljoh Ward 1 Refers Decampees as Cash Out Councillors

PDP Ogbe-ljoh Ward 1 Refers Decampees as Cash Out Councillors

........ Says they are situational loyalist councillors of Warri South-West LGA with no commercial value to PDP_Sylvester Tiebebedigha

Warri _____ It is a public knowledge that, we have a few councilors whom have demonstrated in many ways that they are no longer loyal to the party.

It will be a disservice for the party to feign ignorance of the fact that they have decided to work against the party for their personal interest.

It is unfortunate that they have resorted to insulting the party leadership and the party faithfuls that gave them the needed support to enable them emerge as candidates. This same leadership gave them money for their tax clearance and sorted out every necessity in other for them to meet requirements to be councilors. It is shameful of some youths whom only become aware of challenges we face yesterday to now muster insults on the leaders that has be shown capacities at different levels in almost 40 years.

It’s utterly sad, disgraceful and disrespectful that, in the whole of the state, they are the only ones who go around insulting their leaders who made them and such characters are inimical to any responsible person.

These sets councilors with this sort of behaviour hiding under some hideous issues can only be termed cash out councilors. There’s no record of what they have personally done for the party or the community from their benefits as councilors. They have no record on personal contributions towards resolving the Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh crisis. But yet, that has become an excuse to insult our reverenced party and leaders. The leadership of the party will not tolerate and continue to associate with pretentious characters and situational loyalists, who are only loyal when the going is good for them.
The same party that have made them to pay their bills, achieve marriages, fed their families and built houses, is what they suddenly now think does not have the interest of people because it refused to serve their personal desires. A party that have practically made them. They can quietly go to serve other parties without insulting the party and the leaders.

Also, It is a public knowledge that they were not the most contributors to the party’s success yet they were made councilors. There were far more deserving and party faithfuls whom have served meritoriously, yet they were chosen for very peculiar reasons known to many.

However, what the party will not entertain, is the interests of an individual or group that think their personal interest supersede the interest of the party and the people. We will continue to hold dear the collective interest of the party and its people above any individual or group.

Moreso, we want reiterate our confidence in our leadership as no party, kingdom nor association succeeds without a committed leadership like ours. We have resolved to continue to repose our absolute trust in the party leadership.

To the those other councilors whom are doing anti-party activities in their secrecy, we want to let you know that we are aware of your activities and we are watching keenly.

To the general public, please, be aware that, there are those whom are not members nor have any sort associations of our party, now decamping to other parties under the false pretense of former PDP members. The results of elections will show how their noises do have zero effects on the elections.

Meanwhile, we want to urge our party faithfuls and teeming supporters and well wishers of our party not to deter in their optimism and utmost faith in the party’s victory at the polls on the March 18th governorship and house assembly elections. We know by the grace of God, we will win the elections and their Labour will not be in vane.

Finally, we want to use this medium to wish our brothers whom have found new brides in other parties, the very best in their future endeavors.

Signed:

Chief Sylve Tiebebedigha,
PDP Secretary Ward 1,
Warri south West Local Government,
Delta state.

Amnesty Program has Succeeded in Restoring Peace in N'Delta_Ndiomu

Abuja ______ The Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Maj. Gen. Barry Ndiomu (rtd) has affirmed that the Programme remains a critical tool to mitigate conflicts in the oil-rich Niger Delta region.

The PAP as initiated and signed into law by late former President Umaru Yar'Adua on June 25, 2009, was conceived as a special intervention programme of the Federal Government to disarm, demobilze and reintegrate ex-agitators who responded to calls to lay down their arms.

While delivering a lecture on Friday at the National Defence College Abuja, General Ndiomu recalled that 13 years down the line, the PAP has played a more critical role in stemming agitations, compared to the efforts of other intervention modules in the past.
In a lecture entitled 'Concepts of War and Theories of Peace in Conflict Management: Niger Delta Post - Amnesty Programmes in Perspective', to mark the Module 7 of the lecture series of the College, Gen. Ndiomu listed corruption, inadequate funding, lack of political will and other factors, as responsible for the failure of various intervention agencies in the region.

Ndiomu who was represented by Flight Lieutenant Terry Ajogbena (rtd), his Technical Assistant explained that the PAP has since embarked on its "3 Prong Model" - Robust Stakeholder Engagement, Strategic & Targeted Communication and Community Outreach, Peace Building & Reconciliation to manage conflicts in the Niger Delta.
He stated that the PAP is only a comprehensive arm of the Niger Delta Recovery Plan (NDRP), which also has the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Ministry of Environment. "The PAP is essentially a capacity building Programme," he said.

While responding to questions on environmental remediation from participants at the Lecture, the PAP boss hinted that the Amnesty Programme has trained ex-agitators in environmental cleaning as well as remediation and made reference to Government Ekpomoplo aka Tomplo's whose Tantita Security Services Limited is executing a Pipeline Surveillance Contract for the Federal Government.
He added that the region has enjoyed relative peace, with no reports of blowing up of pipelines and an increase in crude oil production.

In a remark, Deputy Commandant of the National Defence College, Major General Lawrence Fejokwu noted that since 1958 till date, various intervention agencies have struggled to address agitations in the region.

He recalled that when the Amnesty Programme kicked off, it was so successful such that other countries facing similar challenges, came to Nigeria to understudy the Programme.

2023: Wike Mocks Atiku Over Protest At INEC Office, unfolds why he fails at the poll

2023: Wike Mocks Atiku Over Protest At INEC Office, unfolds why he fails at the poll

PortHarcourt____ Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Monday took a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who led leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on a demonstration at the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to protest the outcome of the February 25, 2023 Presidential election.

Wike, who spoke at the commissioning of Chokocho-Igbodo Road in the Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, said he warned the leadership of the party over its insistence that northerners hold onto the presidential ticket and national chairmanship seat of the party.
“While other people are demonstrating, I am commissioning projects. I have not gone to do demonstration; my own is to commission projects and make my people happy,” Wike said.

The Rivers governor also commended the people for voting a southern President in the just-concluded elections.

According to him, Section 7(3)(c) of the PDP constitution recognised zoning and rotational presidency but the leadership of the party contravened the provisions of the party’s regulations.

“I owe nobody any apology at all. I am one of the apostles, one of those who stood firm that power must rotate to the South. This is for equity, this is for fairness and this is for justice.

“Whether you voted for Labour, I have no problem with you. Whether you voted for APC, I have no problem with you. That is what we have argued for: that the north has had it for eight years. Therefore the south must be there for eight years,” he said.

For months before the elections, Wike and four other PDP governors known as the G5 demanded the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu, saying northerners should not be the PDP national chairman and presidential candidate.

Both Atiku and Ayu called the governors’ bluff and did not succumb to their demands in the just-concluded elections.

For the presidential election, Atiku lost in all the G5 states while Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi won Enugu and Abia, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) raked in Oyo, Benue and Rivers.

INEC subsequently declared Tinubu as President-Elect after he came out tops in 12 of Nigeria’s 36 states, and secured significant numbers in several other states to claim the highest number of votes — 8,794,726, almost two million votes more than his closest rival — Atiku.

Atiku, 76, who has now run for president six times, got 6,984,520 votes, while Obi, who, in less than a year, galvanised young voters in a manner some have described as unprecedented finished the race with 6,101,533.

Both Obi and Atiku said the election was flawed and will be challenged in court. They faulted INEC for not uploading election results from polling units electronically to the commission’s Results Viewing Portal (IReV), as stipulated by Section 60 of the Electoral Act 2022.

“The weekend election was neither free nor fair. Preliminary assessments indicate that it is the worst conducted elections since the return to democratic rule. The manipulation and fraud that attended this election were unprecedented in the history of our nation,” the former vice president said last Thursday.
