LG Poll: Ozobo to create jobs through traditional wrestling, cultural dance, others

Warri ______ Leading chairmanship aspirant of Burutu Local Government Council in Delta State has expressed serious concerns over the depreciating level of Traditional Values and Norms in Ijaw and Delta at large.

Ozobo who is a human rights activist and political philosopher said this in a statement which he signed and a copy was sent to newsmen in Warri on Friday.

In the statement which he titled:"My Realistic Reform More For Burutu Agenda", he said dying cultural traditions in Burutu Local Government Area would be revived with a view of creating talent for deserving youths with it.

While berating factors responsible for the underdevelopment of cultural activities, said he would contribute meaningfully in restoring the lost cultural heritage in Burutu LGA.

This , he included, traditional wrestling, cultural dance, swimming, canoe-race, community festival, inter-school quiz competition and others.
The statement reads,

"My Realistic Reform More For Burutu Agenda

"I will reform our dying cultural traditions. It gives our people joy and happiness. When I was growing up in the village l enjoyed it so much. I could abandon fishing to go and watch traditional wrestling. It is either inter-community or two renowned champions engaging one another. It was lively especially when done in the holiday festive season.

"What about our cultural dance? This is one unique dance, female children love so much. It gives parents joy when they see their children performing in a grand style. The society is depreciating instead of progressing or advancing. Our local swimming activities are forgotten, the local football competition is abandoned, the canoe race, inter-school quiz competition and others have gone moribund.

"In More for Burutu Agenda, I will resuscitate it. I will invest in it. I will build talent from it. I will empower youths through it. I will create jobs through it.

Join the moment!
The More for Burutu Team is real!".

According to the statement, read.

TANTITA PRESS STATEMENT

Our attention has been drawn to a defamatory and libellous statement made by the Nigerian Navy against our organisation, Tantita Security Services Limited.

In the statement made on Thursday the 7th of December, 2023 by the Director of Naval Information, Commodore Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, he informed the general public that the Nigerian Navy had detected and arrested a 77 meter long motor tanker for crude oil theft with her 17 crew members.

He further added and we quote “it is believed that Tantita Security Services is involved in these illegalities because Awoye riverine area which is close to the place of arrest is covered by TSS.
Again it was upon the arrest of the vessel by the Nigerian Navy that TSS began to raise false alarm, totally unfounded and indeed mischievous.”

We are indeed saddened and disappointed that the Nigerian Navy could descend so low as to make such bizarre accusations against our organisation knowing same to be false.

Perhaps they are not aware that video evidence of what transpired between the Tantita operatives and the Nigerian Navy at the scene exists and has been transmitted to the highest authorities.

We will therefore not join issues with the Nigerian Navy as we are well aware that Nigerians know who is who.

Capt. Warredi Enisuoh,
Executive Director  Operations and Technical Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited.

Tantita Reveals New Tactics Oil Thieves Use to Steal Crude Oil in Niger Delta

Tantita Reveals New Tactics Oil Thieves Use to Steal Crude Oil in Niger Delta

Warri _____ Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, a pipeline security company owned by famous Niger Delta warlord, Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has made quite a lot of shocking revelations about how far crude oil thieves are ready to go in order to prosper their illegal enterprise.

Speaking at the maiden edition of the MARAN Annual Maritime Lecture (MAMAL 2023) organised by the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) last week Wednesday, the Executive Director of Operations and Technical of Tantita, Capt Waredi Enisuoh revealed that crude oil thieves in the Niger Delta region have mounted CCTV cameras in the bushes, in order to warn them ahead of invasion by security operatives.

Capt Waredi, a former Director at Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) disclosed that Tantita has arrested and impounded a lot of such facilities and cameras.
He also revealed how Nigerian crude are stored in Shacks and transported in Keke NAPEP and trucks in order to beat security operatives, and they are sold across neighbouring States.

Meanwhile he revealed the functions of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited to include protection of oil assets and maritime assets.

According to him, the staff strength of the company is 8,957,000 direct workers,
38,221,000 community youths and 21,981,000 intelligence agents.

While addressing the issue of Crude Oil Theft in Nigeria, he said “Most of the oil is locally refined from the Niger Delta, a vessel can bring 10,000tons from Europe and take 60,000tons from Niger Delta and falsify the documents, claiming it is from Europe.

“The transportation of stolen oil is done via ships and trucks, they use the trucks to transport it to neighbouring Cameroon, Niger Republic, Chad and so on, Nigerian oil goes everywhere.

The biggest Nigerians are usually concerned about is ships coming to steal the oil, but it is not only the ships that steal the oil.
“These oil thieves bridge the pipeline and pass the oil through bottom of a canal and arrange it back. It flows into illegal refineries.

This is not only a Niger Delta thing, it happens everywhere there is oil in Nigeria, from Imo State, to Akwa Ibom, Ondo and the rest.

“They sack the crude, they put them in bags, carry them to the waterside for sale.
You will be surprised how smart these people are, you will be walking but you can never know that under the ground, tiny pipes have been laid away from the areas.

“The business is not discriminatory at all, even Keke Napep carry the crude.

The business is also gender friendly, you will find women and children inside the bush working and contributing their share to the oil theft.

“There are so many people involved, and that is why so many people are against us.
The trucks look very benign, you will not suspect anything wrong with them, but when you open the back of the trucks, you will see crude oils in bags.

“As we are apprehending them, they are also changing their game, there is an international ring sponsoring them.
The design of the trucks are altered, outwards it looks like a truck, but inside, it is a tank.

“If you go to the Niger Delta, at every kilometer, there is a road block, but how does these trucks get passed these road blocks?

“We have chased them from the fields, not they are targeting the wellheads, they connect very long hoses to these wellheads and fetch the crude.

The crude is transported under house foundations, and inside the house is where they fetch the oil directly into trucks and so on.
We have thousands of points like that.
“What they do is that first, they come to Lagos to collect all the right documentation to load oil. They will not take six number plates, get approval for one number, and they forge five with same number, all the trucks have same documentation with same number on all the trucks.

“They have CCTV Mounted inside the bush, this gives them advance warning that you are coming, so that they can prepare for your arrival.

We have recovered quite a lot of CCTV cameras inside the bush” Waredi stated.

Maritime Versity: Mulade warns against another ljaw/Itsekiri crisis in Delta

Maritime Versity: Mulade warns against another ljaw/Itsekiri crisis in Delta

....... Appeals to Omadino people to embrace peace and unity for overall development

Warri _____ A Niger Delta environmental and peace advocate, Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff has called on the Itsekiris and the Ijaws of Delta State to embrace peace and unite as one in order to fast track the development of the oil-rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

Chief Mulade made the appeal on Wednesday, November 29, in Warri while reacting to a recent petition that was addressed to President Bola Tinubu on behalf of the Omadino Community, calling on the president to intervene with the Nigerian Senate’s decision to pass a bill for the establishment of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, instead of Okerenghigho, where they claim the institution is actually located.

It would be recalled that some individuals named Edward Omagbemi, Oritseweyinmi Emmanuel Aginejuone, and Tsaye Edeyibo-Mene, who were represented by the law firm of Robinson Ariyo and Co in Warri, Delta State, filed the petition in their appeal for the government to uphold the rule of law, specifically emphasizing respect for certain Supreme Court’s ruling in the case of one James Uluba and Ors vs Chief E.E. Sillo and Others (1972), particularly regarding the use of the name “Okerenghigho” instead of “Okerenkoko.”.
Chief Mulade, who is the Ibe Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom and a renowned peaceful coexistence promoter, said that what the Niger Delta people needed at this moment in time was the overall development of the grossly neglected, marginalised region by uniting as one, and not engaging in actions that would fan disunity to their disadvantage.

He said, "It is worthy of note that Ijaws of Delta and Itsekiri produce about 80 percent of the state's revenue but there is nothing to show for neither any single federal nor state government presence, nothing in any of our communities and local government headquarters because of hatred and division among us.

"We don't want what happened in the Warri crisis to be reignited all over again. It is not an experience we want to go back to. That crisis set us backwards and we are just gradually recovering from that ugly episode.

"The Ijaws and the Itsekiris in Warri area have coexisted for ages. What affects one affects the other. So, to me, it is not in the best interest of the people to create division in our midst," Chief Mulade asserted.

Chief Mulade therefore called on the Omadino people to embrace peace and collaborate with their neighbours for the overall development of the area.
"I am calling on the Itsekiri Nation, particularly Omadino people to embrace peace that will foster unity and the quest for development of the region," and added further "Let us not give room to opportunist to benefit from our resources through conflicts. As the saying goes, when two brothers fight, a stranger inherits their properties," he counseled.
