Taskforce On Environment Clean Up Delta After #ENDSARS Protests 


Delta State taskforce on environment in collaboration with Uvwie LGA Council, #CleanWarri group, Private Sector Participants PSP, Darlinz Interior & Clean Service other volunteers today cleared up debris and other plastic wastes littered on the streets of Warri and Effurun by the #ENDSARS protesters over the past two weeks. 


The exercise was conducted in line with the Delta State government keep Delta state clean mantra to give the aesthetics a befitting look. 


Speaking during the exercise, the State Taskforce Chairman, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni appreciated the state taskforce marshals and other partners who placed premium on our environment. 


Oromoni said that the #ENDSARS protesters have messed up the whole city of Warri and the state capital, Asaba with all kinds of polythene bags, can water wastes, broken bottles among other plastic wastes. 


"Yesterday, myself, SSG and Commissioner of Environment carried out the same clean up exercise in Asaba. 


"Today, we decided to come over to Warri because Warri was one of the flashpoints of the #ENDSARS protests and was greatly felt in the state." 


He therefore, charged the Nigerian youths, especially Deltans to exercise patience and be law abiding, stressing that Delta state government has already set up judicial panel of inquiry to look into their demands, he stated." 


The State Taskforce Chairman was accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Environment, Chief. Peter Abugewa, Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Security Matters, Emmanuel Udoka, the Coordinator in charge of Delta South/Central, Comrade Kingsley Iweka, taskforce Supervisors from Uvwie and Warri among others.
