Delta South: Grassroot Liberators Endorse Joel Onowakpo for Senate

Warri ________ Ahead of the forthcoming February 2023 Presidential/National Assembly elections across the country, a grassroot based people oriented political pressure group under the aegis of Independent Grassroot Liberators, IGL in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has unanimously endorsed and throw their weight behind the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Delta South Senatorial Seat in the National Assembly, Hon. Joel Onowakpo Thomas to represent them in the red chambers.

The politically inclined and influential pressure group which cut across the six ljaw LGAs of Delta South Senatorial District with over one thousand five hundred eligible registered members with possession of their PVCs made the endorsement on Saturday 7th January, 2023, during the group's door to door grassroot enlightenment campaign on the need for registered voters to collect their permanent voters cards in order to enable them vote for credible candidates to represent them in the coming elections.

Addressing the press shortly after the campaign exercise at Ogbe-ljoh, headquarters of Warri South-West LGA, the group National Coordinator, Hon. Felix Yerinbowei Company, popularly known as YCom noted that for the sake of fairness, equity and justice, it is now the turn of lsoko nation to produce the next Senator  because the ltsekiris and the ljaws have had their own fair share over the years in the Senate.

Hon. Felix particularly stressed that amongst the various candidates vying for the seat, the former Delta State lnternal Revenue Board Chairman, Joel Onowakpo is the most credible, qualified, experienced and matured to effectively represent the good people of Delta South Senatorial District at the red chambers based on his past sterling leadership track records.

He stated that the lndependent Grassroot Liberators is not a political party biased group rather it goes for the best candidate with clean track record who have the capacity to deliver whenever given the opportunity serve.

" It is based on the above assertion, our group on Wednesday this week, endorsed the PDP Presidential candidate and his running mate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa as our choice candidates for President and Vice President.

" We further endorsed Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his running mate, Sir Monday Onyeme of PDP for Governor and Deputy Governor of Delta State come 2023 Governorship elections.

" We also throw our full support for Hon. Dennis Emomotimi Guwor, the PDP Delta State House of Assembly candidate for Warri South-West Constituency.

" And today, we have equally deem it fit without fear or favour backed Hon. Joel Onowakpo Thomas of the APC. The reason for his endorsement was that we as a group believe in his capacity to deliver based on his blameless excellent performance as former Chairman in the state internal revenue board over the years," Hon. Felix stated.

However, the group had vowed to use all the merchinaries within their disposal to canvas, convince, support and mobilize eligible grassroot voters spread across the six ljaw LGAs in the senatorial district to collect their PVCs and come out enmass to vote for their choice candidates from top to bottom in the forthcoming general elections, the statement added.
