Professorship Attainment: Committee Of Friends Sets To Organize Thanksgiving/Reception Party In Hounour Of Prof Binebai On 15th December, At Burutu Island

Warri_____ Committee of Friends of Prof. Benedict Binebai in collaboration with other critical stakeholders in the Niger Delta region will on Sunday 15th December, 2019 organize a Thankgiving/Reception Party in honour of Benedict Binebai on his promotion to the rank of a professor in the Niger Delta University, NDU, Wilberforce Island, Amassoma, Bayelsa State.

According to the planning Committee of the programme, said the thanksgiving will be taking place at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Burutu Community early in the morning, the reception party will be taking place at the Local government Council pavilion in Burutu by 10:00Am prompt.

However, Dr. Alfred Mulade, Registrar, Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State, Nigeria will be the Chairman of the occasion. While His Royal Majesty, Bosu Dio, JP, Ayamabulou 1, The paramount ruler of Iduwini Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State will be the royal father of the day.

Meanwhile, Prof. Samuel G. Edoumiekumo, Vice chancellor, Niger Delta University, NDU, Wilberforce Island, Amassoma, Bayelsa State will be special guest of honour, as well as Chief Kenneth Donye JP, Chief Executive Officer, CEO Akewa Global Services Nigeria Ltd. is the Chief host.

According to the duo of Hon. Fred Brisibe and Barr. David Otutufegha who spoke to newsmen in their capacities as members of the central working committee of the programme noted that arrangements are on top gear.

It would be recalled that Binebai was recently promoted by the Niger Delta University authority as a professor of Drama, Dramatic Theory and Criticism, a promotion that was hailed massively by family members, friends and well wishers of Prof. Binebai across the globe.

It will interest you to note that, top government functionaries, academic dons within the country and Niger Delta rights activists have all indicated interest to storm Burutu for the historic event on Sunday, the statement adds.

Warri_____ All is now set for the marking of the second edition of Ijaw Political Whatch Dog lPWD, Annual Convention  slated for this weekend Saturday 14th December, 2019 at Okuemi Hotels, Bendel Estate, Warri Delta State.

The general public, especially Ijaw sons and daughters are hereby invited to come and grace this years convention, noting that there shall be a lot of programmes put together for the overall interest of ljaw Nation development politically in Delta State, and Nigeria at large

According to the National President of the organization, Comrade Akpowaide Paul, stressed that this years event is tagged with the theme: ” The Voice of Ijaw Nation in Nigeria Politics”. He further stated that, the event is to be chaired by a distinguished High Chief. Wellington Bobo from Gbaramantu Kingdom.

The event will feature three lectures on different important topics that will benefit participants. The National President of Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative, IPDI, and a former Delta State House of Assembly aspirant, Comrade Austin Ozobo will present the first lecture on the topic, ” what will be the place of the Ijaws in Nigeria politics in the nearest future.”

The second lecture is to be presented by Prince Perez Bibaikefie, former aspirant Delta State House of Assembly, will be speaking on the topic: "Where is the Ijaw Nation belong to as the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria."

While the last lecture of the day would be presented by Dr. Clarkson Aribogha, who will speak  on the topic: ”Unity among Ijaw Leaders”.

The statement further adds that, Special Guests of honour expected at the event includes; Hon. Julius Pondi, member representing Burutu Federal Constituency, Hon Shedrack Agediga, ED DESOPADEC, Hon. Emman Ambgaduba, Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Delta State, Hon. Asupa Forteta, member representing Burutu North in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, member representing Warri South-West in  Delta State House of Assembly.

Others are, Comr. Daniel Ezekiel, SSA on security, High Chief Afro Biukeme, former Delta state governorship aspirant. Hon. Pullah Ekpotuayerin, member representing Burutu South Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Braduce Amakazi Angozi, former commisioner for Agriculture and former governorship aspirant Delta State.

Warri____ As regards to his humanitarian services to the needy in our society, the Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics in the board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Amb Comr. Shedrack Agediga is to be honoured with Award of exemplary leadership by Delta ljaw Comrade Community for his philanthropic works over the years.

The event which is slated for on the 21st of December, 2019 at the Education Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited Hall, Emebiren Street along Deco road Warri, by 12:p.m. would be graced by the Deputy Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Dcn. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Hon. Bashorun Askia Ogieh (MD DESOPADEC) as Special Guests of honour. While Hon. Julius Pondi, the member House Reps representing Burutu Federal Constituency will be the Chairman of the occasion.

According to the programme organizing Committee Chairman, Comrade Austin Ozobo stressed that, there shall be a Symposium with the theme “Transparency, Social Inclusion and mentorship as fundamentals of good leadership: The Shedrack Agediga Example.”

He further stated that, a renowned global peace ambassador cum environmental human rights activist, Amb Comr. Sheriff Mulade will be the guest speaker at the event. While His Royal Majesty, King Elder Capt. Joseph Timiyan JP, the Ebenanawei of Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State will be the royal father of the day.

Other dignitaries expected to grace the occasion includes; Delta State Commisioner for youth development, Commisioner for Oil and Gas, Commissioner for information, all Delta State Ijaw House of Assembly members, as well as all ethnic group commissioners. Warri____ The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on investment to the governor of Delta State, Hon. Kofee Ebisine Amassuomo has congratulated His Royal Majesty, king Johnbull Polokowei, the Apiarogun Ongolo 1, Pere of Ogbolubiri Mein Kingdom, on the occasion of presentation of staff of office to him by the executive governor of Delta State, His Excellency,  Dr Sen. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, who was represented by his deputy, Barr Dcn. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro.

The auspicious event took place last week Friday 6th of December, 2019 at the kingdom's headquarters, Agbodobiri Town in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State.

Hon. Kofee made the statement in a Press Release dated 8th December, 2019 stated that, " His Royal Majesty, Pere Johnbull Polokowei was my very good bosom friend. I am very delighted seeing him today being presented staff of office as he ascended to the royal throne as destiny demands. I want to appreciate and thank our amiable governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for making this day come to reality. My greetings also go to the honorable member representing Burutu North Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Asupa Forteta in his efforts to makesure His Royal Majesty was given staff of authority to operate as one of the recognized traditional rulers in Delta State, as well as Nigeria at large."

However, Hon. Kofee pray God to give His Royal Majesty, and the traditional council of chiefs the wisdom and mutual understanding to serve the peace loving people of Ogbolubiri Mein Kingdom.

Warri____ The Clark Fuludu Ambakederemo, CAF, Charity Cup for Under 14 get December 20th as kick off date. The kids tournament is limited to Burutu, Ughelli and Warri local government area to test run the first edition.

All teams are expected to play in different center in their respective local government area and the final will be played in Kiagbodo village.

Overall winner will go home with sixty five thousand naira cash plus gold medals. Second prize fourty thousand naira plus silver medals and third prize goes home with twenty five thousand naira respectively.

Egbema Youths Set To Embark On Crime Free Sensitization Campaign, As Ugedi, Messiah, Agbedeyi, Others Charges Youths To Shun Violence And Embrace Entrepreneurship

Warri_____ The Egbema Youths Progressive Foundation (EYPF) has planned to embarked on peace and crime free society sensitization campaign programme across the kingdom, in order to attract sustainable infrastructural development from the government to their communities.

The group reached a resolution at Ogbudugbudu Town Hall yesterday 6th December, 2019 after the organization 3rd annual Town Hall meeting, stressing that the  sensitization programme is a campaign against criminality in Egbema Kingdom.

Speaking at the event, the President of Egbema Youths Progressive Foundation, Comrade Messiah Ebidou Miyenperegha urges the youths of Egbema to shun social vices, such as kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism etc. that will jeopardize their future. He said Egbema Kingdom is known for peace, and that let the peace continue to exist. He further warns that any Egbema youth who involved in any criminal act will be arrested and handover to the law enforcement agencies in order to face the full wrath of the law.

In his reaction, the Special Guest at the occasion, Hon. David Ugedi charges Egbema Youths to sustain the existing peace in the kingdom, noting that  meaningful development can get to our communities if only when there is peace.

In another reaction, the guest speaker at the event, Pst. E.F. Perekunakuna charged Egbema Youths to embrace entrepreneurship, noting that Egbema land is fertile for cassava and plantain farming. He aslo advice them to venture into poultry, piggery, palm oil as well as fish farming, saying these businesses are lucrative from time immemorial.

He concluded by urging the youths to obtain soft loans from financial institutions in order to enable them set up the above mentioned businesses. It is high time we diversify our dependence on crude oil and grab the entrepreneural opportunities available at our door steps, the statement adds.

On her part, Comrade Mercy Agbedeyi cautioned Egbema Youths against the quick to get rich syndrome, stressing that they should indulge in what will bring them lasting peace and rest of mind to themselves and the entire Egbema Kingdom.
