Amnesty: Don't Appoint Desperate Politicians, Glorified Militant Leaders To Head Amnesty Office, Ex-Niger Delta Agitators Tells President Buhari

Amnesty: Don't Appoint Desperate Politicians, Glorified Militant Leaders To Head Amnesty Office, Ex-Niger Delta Agitators Tells President Buhari

....... "We Need Visionary Neutral Person To Head The Office"

Francis Tayor

Warri____ Former Niger Delta agitators under the aegis of Ex- Niger Delta Freedom Fighters (ENDFF), led by self styled General Agbobulagha Ebube has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to repositioned the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) by appointing an independent visionary leader from the creeks of Niger Delta to head the office.

Speaking with news men in Warri yesterday, Gen. Agbobulagha expressed disgust that social media is proliferated with campaign of those desperate for the office, adding that politicizing the programme is inimical to the purpose of the Amnesty programme.

Agbobulagha also noted that the agitations to develop the Niger Delta region by formerly armed agitators necessitated the Amnesty programme. It should be recalled that civil society group played  major role by creating awareness and educative programmes which created the idea that led to the programme.

Agbobulaga express regrets that Professor Charles Dokubo was suspended following series of petitions. However, it should not serve as an opportunity to some glorified militants and political godfathers to use political means to lobby for the sensitive position
no matter how close they are to the corridor of power at the presidency.

Political lobbying from those connected to militant camps, groups or leaders in the Niger Delta is just a ploy to tune the presidency toward appointing their stooges and earn them the platform to energize militancy.

The presidency must not create room for superiority contest, insecurity that will plunge the programme into monumental failure.

The presidency must disregard calls from clandestine network of his political appointees with unholy mission.

A civil society leader from the creeks of Niger Delta, someone unabashedly devoted to peace advocacy using prerequisite sagacity to galvanize the amnesty programme on the pedestrian of success is what we need to handle the Amnesty office, Gen. Agbobulagha stated.

The group in a press statement signed by its national president Comrade Ozobo Austin , which a copy of it was made available to newsmen said Christians and Southerners in the country were no longer safe under Buhari authoritarian Government.

The statement read in part, "we have discovered plans by the Northern Nigeria to intimidate the Southern Nigeria, mostly Christians with barbaric killings to abandoned their Christian faith for Islam and eventually turned Nigeria to a Muslim state"

"Except, the international Community quickly interventions, the Christian race will be wiped out in Nigeria" Nigeria Government has no interest to protect Christian faith. The Government backing to killer herdsmen, Boko Haram and Miyetti Allah is the reason for the continues babaric and indiscriminate killings in the country"

The statement read" being the fact that both Boko Haram,  Herdsmen and Miyetti Allah are both from the same Islamic Faith and it happened to be Fulani/Hausa elements from the Northern Nigeria, there is no reason the Christians will not believe that there is Islamization agenda backed by president Muhammadu Buhari in the Country"

The group asserted" Nigeria security is sectional and have compromised and now defends killer herdsmen in the southern Nigeria instead of protecting the harmless citizens"

"The foreign criminal elements killing and invading communities under the guise of herdsmen in Southern Nigeria are not real herdsmen but are organized Northern militia groups specially sent to the Southern Nigeria to execute the Islamization agenda in the Southern Nigeria"

"What is happening to Nigeria Christians today is an organized conspiracy by the Muslims, Nigeria sectional and tribalistic Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari"

While warning Buhari to stop the Killing of Christians, he urged Christians in the country to go for self-help against any attack by the Islamic killer groups in the Southern Nigeria.
