Yenagoa____ lnformation just reaching our news desk has it that the people of Ekeni Community in Southern ljaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State are currently running helter skelter in the bush as over seven gun boats of Nigerian Army storms the Community in a commando style.

According to our source, at about 10:pm last night, there was sporadic gunshots in Ekeni Community as residents could not stay in their houses as they scamper into nearby bushes for safety of their lives.

At the time of filing this report, there was no reported case of any causality yet but the community has been over taken by the Nigerian military personnel. It was gathered that sometime last week, the same military personnel invaded the community and killed one of the youth suspected to be among sea pirates terrorising the riverine communities in Southern ljaw.

Our reporter, Francis Tayor put a call across to an indigene of the community, one Chief. Ebi Pinapinawei alias Commander Biggy confirmed that the incident happened at exactly 10:pm prompt Friday eve.

According to Biggy, said; " l went home with my family due to the Coronavirus two weeks stay at home directive by the federal government of Nigeria. It was unfortunate that last night was a battle as the Nigerian Army invaded my community as if we are at war. As am talking to you, am in the bush running for safety."

" If the military have information of some suspected criminal elements hiding in my community, they should go after them through intelligence gathering and not extending transgression of anger to the whole law abiding innocent community people.

l am calling on the federal government, President Muhammadu Buhari and the governor of Bayelsa State, Sen. Douye Diri to as a matter of urgency call the military men to order. We leave the city to the village as result of the deadly COVID-19, yet we cannot find peace in our confined place. We need peace in our community, Ekeni is not a criminal hide out, leave us alone, Commander Biggy stated."
