Warri------ Coastal Communities in Delta State have renewed their call on the Delta State Government and the 7th House of Assembly to create a Coastal Area Development Agency, CADA for the sustainable development of the area.

Speaking with the Press on behalf of the Coastal Areas Communities at the weekend in Benikurukuru Town, a renowned Delta born environmentalist and human rights activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has renewed the call on the urgent need for the creation of CADA in order to fastrack even development in the riverine Communities.

He appealed to the Delta State Governor, Dr.Ifeanyi Okowa and the Delta State House of Assembly to urgently consider the establishment of CADA for the coastal communities in the State to give them a complete sense of belonging.

Comrade Mulade noted that CADA would help to  address the issues of social infrastructure, housing, portable drinking water, sanitation, internal roads, and commercial fishing, using a better platform.

He commended the Governor for appointing indigenes of the coastal areas and urged the Governor to focus on the needs of the people in the coastal communities by supporting productive measures and ensuring the creation of CADA..

He asserted that no amount of Government appointments can address and completely eradicate the development deficits in the coastal communities.

He also noted that the diverse ethnic groups of Itsekiri, Ijaw, Urhobo and Isoko who reside in the coastal communities were anxiously waiting on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon.Sheriff Oborovwori and members of the 7th Assembly to meet the urgent demands of the coastal communities so that their names would be remembered forever by Deltans particularly those in the riverine communities.
