Ogbe-Ijoh People Cries Out To Gov.Okowa, Share Disputed Land Now For Peace To Reign, As SSA Security Daniel Ezekiel Pays Condolence Visit To The Families Of Late Taylor Agofugha At Ogbe-Ijoh,

Warri_____ The people of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, the headquarters of Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State has called on the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa to as a matter of urgency share the disputed land between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh, in order to restore permanent peace among the two communities.

The call was made by Chief. Isaiah Afedolor and Chief. Diridumu Oyibo today 27th October, 2019 when the Senior Special Assistant SSA, to the Governor of Delta State on Security Matters, Comrade Daniel Ezekiel paid condolence visit to the families of late Taylor Agofugha at Ogbe-Ijoh. They lamented that Aladja youths came to attack us on Tuesday 15th October, 2019 and gruesomely shot dead our illustrious son who was doing maintenance work at his building near Council Secretariat.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Chief. Isaiah Afedolor and Chief. Oyibo Diridumu thank the SSA and his entourage for the visit. They narrated how the Aladja youths came to attack and killed their son right in front of his house.



According to the family Chiefs said; " It would be recalled that, Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities has been in communal clashes for about two decades ago, over a piece of land that have claimed so many lives and destruction of properties worths millions of naira from both communities. Just last two months, the Delta State government peace committee invited both community leaders to sign a peace pact, in which both communities agreed to lay down their arms to embrace peace and live as one. It was unfortunately that, the Aladja people breach the peace deal and took us unaware came to murder our son in a cold blood this week Tuesday without thinking otherwise. We are mourning in sorrow and pain, because our late son Taylor was the bread winner of the Agofugha family. He left behind six children, wife, siblings, aging mother and father who where under his care. Now that our enemies have killed him, who will take care of the family ?

We called on Governor Okowa to as a matter of urgency, come to the aid of the family our son left behind. We also want the Delta state government to share the disputed land between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh for permanent peace to reign in our communities. If Governor Okowa fail to resolve this matter once and for all, whatever happens henceforth, the world should hold Delta state government responsible for any consequence, the statement adds."

However, in his reaction, the SSA Comrade Daniel Ezekiel thank the family and the peace loving people of Ogbe-ljoh for their understand over the gruesome murder of their son, especially by  not embarking on reprisal attack against their Aladja counterpart. This singular act shows that Ogbe-Ijoh people are peace loving.

" As regards to your request, I will make sure l put your demands in black and white as a report, and submit to the governor for prompt action. I want to once again, appealed to the family and Ogbe-Ijoh people to continue tow the part of peace, noting that my boss, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa will take drastic steps to address this matter immediately without further delay. The Governor is not happy about this renewed killing after the both communities has signed peace pact. He will get to the root of this matter. My boss has ordered the police, army and other security agencies to swing into action in order to fish out the perpetrators of this dastardly act.

I give you my words today that, my boss, His Excellency, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa will look into the bereaved family and do something reasonable to support the aging father, mother, siblings and the six children left behind by late Taylor Agofugha, he stated."
