Okowa's Aide, Ozobo Urges Delta Youths to Embrace Entrepreneur, Vocational Skills

Asaba_____ National President of Ijaw People's Development Initiative, Comrade Ozobo Austin, doubles as Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on political matters has urged youths in Ojobo and Tamigbe communities in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State to be good ambassadors and be innovative to foster societal development in their respective Communities.

Ozobo made the statement on Wednesday in both communities on the occasion of Tamigbe students convention and Ojobo youths sensitization programmes , tagged" The Role of Youths As Leaders of Tomorrow" and " Rebranding Ojobo youth mindsets through strategic engagement and enhance security".

According to him many of the present day youths in the society have lost ideals on how to be productive and make positive change through science and technology that would encouraged development.

He expressed grievance that during the days of yore parents work assidiously to provide for their families despite excruciating economic challenges.

" my heart bleed when I see youths of nowadays engaging in cyber crime and other form of illegal means to earn through the wrong means, some don't want to showcase their natural talent anymore. Majority of the youths today have this mentality of " I will make money quick through any means possible" which have lead them to early grave, during the old glorious days parents work under the rain and sun to care for their families, those that are privileged to obtain degrees and those that are specialized in various skills, engaging in menial jobs to provide for family, but today is not so, what goes wrong?, you need to be creative, be productive, you're the leaders of tommorow, not thugs to cause havoc during electioneering, not cyber criminal, see yourself as ambassador of peace and development, embrace education which is the key to success"

The Niger Delta activist also called on government at all levels to be responsible in engaging the youths to  shun crime and be productive, noting that political office holders are not doing enough in the aspect of skill acquisition programme and entrepreneurship as measures to better the lives of the young youths, adding that religious leaders had roles to play to eradicate the rampant rates of social vices.

" If government at all levels are responsible enough to do the needful by providing an enabling working environment for the youths, I believe there would be growth in the society,  government should create empowerment programmes and job opportunity for the youths to be gainfully employed in specialized areas.

He went further "our religious leaders also have their part to play, the rampant rates of rape, drug abuse, cultism and theft becoming worse in our societies today. Our leaders should preach against it, caution the youths about the consequences of crime, I believe if everyone come together to do the needful the rate of social vices would reduce and the social environment would be a better place for all and sundry", he said.
