2023: Ex-N'Delta Warlord, Oyimi 1 urges Buhari to handover power to Goodluck

Warri_____ A former Niger Delta militant warlord, Commander Josiah Oyakonghan, popularly known as Oyimi 1 of Niger Delta, has said President Muhammadu Buhari should prepare to hand over to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Oyakonghan, who is a former warlord of the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta, MEND, made the call in Warri over the weekend during Easter celebration, said Nigerians can trust only Jonathan to solve their problems.

According to the ex-militant leader, “We, therefore, use this Easter celebration to urge Nigerians to continue to support Buhari’s administration for him to deliver on the promise of change we are committed to seeing, and also work for Jonathan to return to the Villa.

In his words, he said:

“ We urge Buhari to work for Jonathan’s candidacy who will salvage our country and reawaken a new hope for national cohesion and development.

“President Buhari should therefore, support GEJ for president for a new dawn in our country. Virtually every facet of our national life needs urgent attention and GEJ is the answer.”, the statement added.

However, there have been calls from different parts of the country, especially the Northern part of Nigeria that Goodluck Jonathan should contest for the Presidency in 2023 and that they will support him to win the election because he has been tested and trusted true patriotic Nigerian.
