2023: Omo-Agege Declares lnterest for Governor, As Delta ljaws Endorse him  

......Says there is nothing like ljaw Agenda in 2023

....... Expect bloc votes from the ljaws-Chief Michael Johnny assures Omo-Agege

Warri______ Deputy President of the Senate in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), His. Excellency, Sen. Barr. Ovie Omo-Agege, the Obarisi of Urhobo land, has officially declared his intention to Deltans to contest for the seat of Governor, Delta State come 2023.

The distinguished senator made the declaration on Thursday 14th April, 2022 at the campus of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) Effurun, in Uvwie Local Government Area of the State, has promised to build a New Delta.

Omo-Agege said in the New Delta, there will be equal job opportunities for the teeming unemployed Delta youths, uninterrupted power supply to sustain stable economic growth, building of hospitals, industries, schools, attract foreign investors to invest in Delta, construction of massive road infrastructural development, building of bridges to link riverine communities amongst others where Deltans would be proud of.

He noted that because of the mandate Delta central gave to him, he was able to upgrade PTI to Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), and also influenced Federal Polytechnic to Orogun. Provision of brown new Transformers and solar powered street lights to all the communities in Delta central. 

According to Omo-Agege, said he and Sen. Nwaoboshi has also influenced Federal Law School Campus to Delta State. A new Federal university of Agriculture is also coming to Ndokwa nation influenced by him and Peter Nwaboshi. 
Speaking further, Omo-agege blasted Gov. Okowa for marginalizing the people of Ukwani, Isoko and Ijaw nation for paying them back evil instead of good, after the people trusted him the leadership of the State. 

In his words, he said: 

" Delta Central is my comfort zone, if l want to run for senate again and again, l know you people will vote me. But l have decided to leave and step forward to become the governor of Delta State so that l can expand my developmental tentacle to all part of the state.

The time has come for you to take your own destiny by your hand. Say enough is enough to PDP Okowa led bad government and entrust me your mandate to become the next governor of Delta State, and l will perform wonders within a twinkle of an eye to transform Delta State. Today, l offer myself, for the office of Governor, Delta State come 2023, Ovie Omo-Agege asserted".
In his reaction, a former Delta South Senatorial aspirant and a Chieftain of the APC Delta State, High Chief. Michael Johnny, on behalf of the Delta ljaws openly endorsed distinguished senator Ovie Omo-Agege for Governor, assuring him of bloc votes from the three major ljaw local government areas of Bomadi, Burutu, Patani and that of Warri North, Warri South as well as Warri South-West respectively.

Johnny reiterated that there is nothing like Ijaw Agenda in Delta State, and that the ljaws will wait till 2031. He said the Ijaws in Delta State have unanimously agreed to withdraw their 2023 governorship ambition bearing in mind that it is not yet the turn of Delta South to produce the governo. He noted that after distinguished Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege have successfully rule his two tenure, and thereafter handover to ljaw governor come 2031, Johnny concluded.
On his part, Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Delta State, Sir. Omeni Sobotie noted that there is no two ways about it that the APC in Delta State is coming out strong to take over the state from PDP come 2023. 

" With this compassionate mammoth crowed that turn up with solidarity for the sake of Omo-agege, Deltans have decided to siege out PDP bad maladministration in the state over the past 22 years.

Don't allow yourselves to be used by PDP in the State again, we are fully prepared to take over Delta come 2023. Be rest assured that Sen. Omo-agege dream to build New Delta is a divine call from God.”, Sobotie stated.

Meanwhile, there was a massive musical entertainment to spur up the undying APC faithfuls and supporters of Omo-Agege as the popular lsoko Delta born global artist, Daddy Showkey alongside O Fresh, Pheelz, De Revolution, comedian Gordon's and the popular Bayelsa born ljaw highlife owigiri musician, Alfred Izon-Ebi (Jking) took over the center stage as they thrilled the mammoth crowed with best of good musics to the admiration of Deltans present at the occasion.
