Ayakoromo bridge: State Engrs visit site, as Disimpro Nig. Ltd resumes work

In the early hour of Tuesday 12th April, 2022, the Director Ministry of Works, Delta State Asaba, Engr. J.C. Aboloje alongside her deputy, Engr Victor Oputa and Engr. Kenneth Okpor, (Superintending Engineer, Burutu LGA), visited Ayakoromo Bridge Site in Burutu Local Government Area of the State, in other to ascertain the level and quality of work done, as well as to urged the contractor to increase the pace of work so as to meet up with the state government directive to complete the project within 15months time.

This was followed by the recent development of Delta State government upward review of the total cost of the project in other to reflect current reality of things, as His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, gave marching order to the company to finish the Bridge in 15months time.

Speaking to journalists during the site inspection visit, Engr. J.C. Aboloje, who is the Director Ministry of works, said they are on site to know the level of work done as well as to charged the contractor to double up effort to finish the bridge project as expected, since the state government has released fund. She stressed that the State government has given a marshing order for the speedy completion of the Project, hence it is expected that the construction company should do his own part of the bargain by fully mobilize to site for action.

Therefore, " We are here today to give first hand information to the Government as to know if DISIMPRO NIG. LTD, a subsidiary of ZEROCK CONSTRUCTION COMPANY has fully mobilized back to site. As we can see, the site Manager, Engr. George Tannous, the CLO Dcn. Desmond G. Edumogiren and other staff field workers are on site working. That is to say that the company is fully on ground and very much ready to complete the bridge before the state government stipulated time for Commissioning. We are hopeful that before this month runs out, we shall be on site to constantly monitor the work", Engr. Aboloje stated.
Reacting to the development, the Community Liaison Officer, CLO of the company, Dcn. Desmond G. Edumogiren, thanked and appreciated the State Government's renewed commitment towards the project. He noted that Governor Okowa upward review of the project shows that he is a listening governor and man of the grassroot people.

According to him, said: " Our company has fully mobilized to site. As you can see, our boys are working, materials such as granites, rods, smiths etc are being moved to site. In the water, we are left with three pillar points to cross the river. We have prepared bims on ground already. Once the water pillars are completed, the next step is to couple the bims and work done. I want to thank the governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. lfeanyi Arthur Okowa, for matching his words with action by promptly releasing fund for the contractor to work. We are believing in God for sustenance of the mutual relationship until we finish the bridge at the stipulated time", Edumogiren noted.

In his reaction, the Company site Manager, Engr. George Tannous also appreciated the State Government commitment towards the project. He assured Governor Okowa of the company's readiness to deliver the project within the stipulated time frame. He solicited for cordial cooperation from the government in terms of prompt fund disbursement whenever the need arises.

However, he appealed to the youths and people of Ayakoromo and Egbo-lde Communities to create the enabling environment towards the Speedy Completion of the Project, Engr. George  stated.
