Warri______ As the search for new king in Oporomo Kingdom, in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State gathers momentum, a group under the aegis of the Elite People's Forum (EPF) in the kingdom, has raise alarm and caution against purported plan by some influencial leaders in the kingdom to impose unpopular candidate against the interest and will of the people as king.
 
The group raised the alarm on Monday 11th April, 2022 at Ojobo Community, headquarters of Oporomo Kingdom through a Press Statement after emmergency meeting, stated that they are aware of the antics of some sons and daughters of Operemor Kingdom using their political and economic powers to single handedly pick one person as king against other interested persons in the race.

Speaking on behalf of the Elite People's Forum (EPF), the Chairman, Chief. John Amatari said Oporomo Kingdom don't want handpicked king at this trying time, saying let the selection process of the new king be free and fair to all the interested contesting aspirants. He emphasized that Oporomor Kingdom needs selfless and patriotic son to be installed as king and not otherwise. 

The group reiterated that they want a transparent process whereby the best candidate who has the people at heart, the influence, capacity and popularity to deliver the kingdom from underdevelopment.

In conclusion, the group called on the executive governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, his deputy, Barr. Dcn. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, the Chairman Burutu LGA, Rt. Hon. Godknows Angele, Traditional Council of Chiefs and other patriotic sons of the kingdom to intervene on the matter, in order to ensure free and fair peaceful selection process of new king for Oporomo Kingdom, the statement added.

ELITE PEOPLE'S FORUM (EPF) LEADERSHIP IN BURUTU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA KICK AGAINST IMPOSITION OF KINGSHIP CANDIDATES OF OPEREMOR KINGDOM  FOR THE FORTHCOMING SELECTION PROCESS COMES 2022.

The Elite People's Forum (EPF) Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State call on the Governor, Sen Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, Executive Chairman Burutu LGA, Rt Hon Angele Godknows,  leaders and stakeholders of Operemor Kingdom to be caution on any imposition of candidates to the forthcoming Operemor Kingship Selection process precisely Kingdom for the forth coming 2022 Selection process.

In a statement issued by the forum Chairman on Monday 11th April, 2022, Chief. John Amatari said, we are here to install leader and not to deceived the gullible supporters, and not by I'm contesting give me  stool to rule when the individual is not even prepared to rule. The wise ones has said, give those who are ready to serve the common man of the kingdom (Operemor) championed by Amatari had said, we should work for a candidate who has integrity and popular to the masses, such person should be consider as the next Pere of Operemor Kingdom.

As a grassroot leader, we don't want to jeopardize any selection in our prospective jurisdiction and really want to take the best amongst them in irrespective. The Elite People's Forum (EPF), been an intellectuals  in the local government and the State, we have agreed that, we will work for a candidate who has the influence, popularity and integrity to deliver the kingdom at the general public it's what we'll do, else the kingdom might turn to upside down.

Moreso, We call on Council of chiefs, stakeholders and compatriot citizen of Operemor Kingdom respectively, to please let there be consensus decision to select someone who can rely on to fly the flag for a greater height, to bring tangible development.

On that note, we strongly condemned the imposition of  candidates Operemor Kingship to supporters and stakeholders in Operemor Kingdom. We want fairness, equity and justice in the forthcoming selection process and want the most influential candidate to fly the throne.

Therefore, we the Elite People's Forum of Operemor Kingdom, agreed and abide that, we don't need handpicked candidate, we want a sellable candidate that can fly the flag in the general public at all levels, anything contrary might lead to failure.
