Burutu: Enekorogha Women For Okowa Appeals To Delta State Governor To Remember Them, Makes Case For Mrs. Orounagha For Appointment

Warri_____ As the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa continues to appoint Deltans into his administration, the women of Enekorogha community in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State has appealed to the Governor to appoint their leader and coordinator, Hon.(Mrs) Felicia Orounagha, former Chairman Burutu Local Government Area, as one of his Special Assistant/Adviser on Women Mobilization, saying that Mrs Orounagha has contributed so much to the growth of PDP over the years.

Rising from a crucial meeting in Burutu, the Enekorogha group lamented the low number of women appointed into the state government, urging Okowa not to forget that women played a major role in ensuring his victory.

Addressing journalists on behalf of the Enekorogha Women for Okowa, Mrs Victoria Etonwei, PDP woman leader of Enekorogha community, said that with Hon. (Mrs) Orounagha as Special Assistant to Governor Okowa, they will be satisfied because they believe in the antecedents of Mrs Orounagha.

According to Mrs. Etonwei said; "Your Excellency, first we appreciate your performance across the state from 2015 till date, together with several appointments made by you to various office from the Delta Ijaw people. This shows that you are a man of the people. We also want to solicit that you look into our passionate request to appoint our indefatigable women leader. Hon. (Mrs) Orounagha deserves an appointment in this dispensation.
The Women also appealed to the Delta State Government to open a Polytechnic in Bomadi Local Government Area for more development to come to the area. However, they congratulated Gov. Okowa on his recent victory at the Court.

In the same vain m, a grassroot PDP faithful, Barrister Afoegba Goody appealed to Chief (Hon) Julius Takeme to look into the issue of Hon.(Mrs) Orounagha. He recalled that Mrs. Orounagha had contributed to the development of Burutu Local Government during her short stint as Chairman. He Further said Mrs. Orounagha has been a loyal party member but largely sidelined by the Party leadership and office holders in Burutu Local Government.
He called on Chief (Hon.) Julius Takeme to convey this appeal to the Governor, he stated.
