Letugbene Invasion: Ijaw Rights Activist, Comr. Abraye Calls On Nigerian Military To Be Professional In Response To Situations In Niger Delta

Warri_______ A Niger Delta Human Rights Activist, Comrade Freeborn Abraye, has cautioned the Nigerian military to employ adequate professionalism and a high level of intelligence in the discharge of their national duties.

Comrade Abraye, who is also the CEO/Publisher COASTAL TIMES NEWS, an online News platform, made this call on Wednesday the 19th February, 2020 in Warri, following the invasion of Letugbene community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State by the Nigerian Army.

Comrade Abraye expressed his displeasure over the way and manner at which the military always responds to attacks carried out on the military by miscreants in the region.

He expressed that, despite the fact that the ungodly actions of those miscreants are been condemned in its entirety, the military should also employ a high level of intelligence and diplomacy, in their reciprocal attacks, in man-hunting the perpetrators of those evil acts. So as not to affect the lives and properties of poor and innocent civilians within the communities.

It reads:

"In as much as we condemn in it’s entirety, the ungodly act of sea pirates, who have been terrorizing our rivers, and engaging in gun battles with the military. In some cases, leaving the military with some officers been killed. We also want to appeal to the Nigerian Military to employ adequate professionalism in the discharge of their duties. As many at times, it is the poor and innocent civilians within those areas, that suffer the brunt of the whole thing.

Yes, the military has every right to manhunt those bastard who have deliberately decided not to allow peace in the region. But still, the act of the military, generalizing the consequences of the unholy actions of the pirates and other criminal elements in the region, is quite unfair.

So it is my humble appeal to the Nigerian Military, to be diplomatic, and apply a high level of professionalism in the discharge of their national duties. So that, the cases of invading and burning down of a whole community, just because of the ungodly actions of some bad bloods in the community or area is minimized, if not totally eliminated".

MAY GOD BLESS THE NIGERIAN MILITARY.
