Just-ln: ljaw group endorses Alaowei Owotorufa for President lNC
As the ljaw National Congress (INC) elections gathers momentum, an ljaw interest advocate group under the aegis of ljaw Democratic Force (ID-Force), has thrown their weight behind the candidature of Alaowei Fred Owotorufa for INC President in the forthcoming election.
The group in a Press Statement released on Sunday in Warri and signed by its Secretary General, Amb. Ekisah Ebitimi, said their endorsement for Owotorufa became imperative based on his unexceptional profile coupled with his diverse wealth of experience in the public and private sectors over the past 35 years.
They reiterated that every other aspirants in the race are qualified to contest, but Alaowei Owotorufa is the best man ljaw nation need now to tackle the contemporary issues affecting the unity, growth and development of ljaw nation in the country.
According to the group in the press statement, read: " We as ljaw interest advocate group today deem it fit to publicly declare our support for Owotorufa to become the next President of lNC, having carried out a rigorous wide consultation with critical stakeholders, traditional rulers as well as opinion leaders of ljaw nation. It is very obvious that Owotorufa's ideals and aspirations is in tardem with the contemporary demands of the Ijaw Nation.
His qualifications and wealth of experience are overwhelming and fit for the apex body of the Ijaw Nation
Having assessed and evaluated all the contenders, we make bold to state the truth that all candidates are qualified as illustrious sons of the soil but Alaowei Owotorufa Fred Endorokeme's intimidating resume can not be over emphasized especially at this critical and demanding times of the Ijaw Nation
For the avoidance of doubt, the ID -Force has consulted far and near, with the motive to ensure and identify a better leadership for the Ijaw Nation, that will provide unity and make us great once again
Therefore, we unequivocally direct, instruct and appeal to Ijaw Nation and the delegates in particular to support and vote for this laudable project to manifest a better and greater Ijaw Nation."
